Job Title: K - 8 Technology Coach
Report to: K 8 Principal
The role of the Technology Coach involves teaching the principles of computers to students of different ages and at different levels. They may work in elementary or middle school. Time is spent working with students in a climate controlled classroom or laboratory setting. A computer coach provides instruction in the field of computer science and related technological areas, with a focus on the fundamentals of computers. Time will be spent looking at a computer screen, keyboarding and manipulating a mouse.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Instructional Leader in creating lesson plans that are appropriate for the age and abilities of the students in class.
Evaluates student performances in class and on tests and provides feedback.
Assign special projects to students.
Communicates students' progress to parents, particularly regarding students who need tutoring or other extra assistance.
Encourage creativity in students.
Maintains accurate records of students' progress in class and on examinations.
Post grades as required by the school system.
Keep order in the classroom and handles student behavior issues in accordance with school's Code of Conduct.
At least 20 college credits in the area of computer science.
Associate degree preferred.
Exceptional computer skills.
Able to pass State of Michigan Police background check.
Salary & Work Hours (2 positions)
$20 per hour
Monday Friday 8:00AM until 11:30AM
Monday Friday 11:30AM until 3:30PM
