Position Summary:
We are seeking an innovative scientist with experience in computational chemistry and cheminformatics. You will be expected to contribute to further build out and maintain our novel covalent drug discovery platform and to drive and influence molecular design approaches by applying state of the art computational chemistry science including but not limited to structure based design, in silico screening, and machine learning in the context of covalent drug discovery. Of particular importance is your ability to build strong working interactions with medicinal chemists and biologists.
Essential Responsibilities:
Actively drive efforts for structure-based design in support of hit identification and lead optimization projects
Work in close partnership with medicinal chemists as a united compound design team to improve potency, selectivity, and ADME properties while minimizing toxicological risk.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including other data scientists, biologists, and chemists to understand, interpret datasets and apply the best computational methodology
Be a critical and agile team member focused on drug discovery using structure-based methods
Foster an environment of innovation and entrepreneurship to build, integrate and apply cheminformatics/computational tools and workflows to allow data analysis and visualization
Mine chemogenomics, structural bioinformatics and other related data from internal and external sources and organize data into integrated databases to enable efficient cheminformatics-based methods development
Education and Experience Requirements:
BS/BA, MSc, or PhD in computational chemistry, cheminformatics, computer science, chemistry, or equivalent experience preferentially with 2+ years of pharma, biotech, or equivalent.
Expertise in modeling suites like Maestro/Schroedinger (preferred), MOE/CCG or OpenEye
Expertise in large-scale data handling, mining, visualization, and querying languages (Python with libraries such as RDKit, Pandas, SciKitLearn; Pipeline Pilot or KNIME; Vortex/Spotfire; SQL)
Demonstrated experience with database design and processing (SQL/NoSQL, RestAPI, XML, json)
Familiarity with Windows/Linux working and cloud computing environments (AWS or Azure)
Proficiency with Research Informatics and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) such as Dotmatics - Browser, Studies, Vortex, Gateway, Nucleus, Inventory; CDD Vault, Benchling, Core LIMS preferred
AI/ML model generation experience a plus

Compensation:
The expected salary range for this role is $120,000 to $145,000. An individual's position within the range is influenced by multiple factors, including education background, years of relevant industry experience, and market dynamics. These factors will influence the actual salary offered. Base salary is one part of the overall total rewards program, which includes discretionary bonus program, equity awards and comprehensive benefits program.
