Position Summary:

This position is responsible for delivery of materials to and from the department, the setup and operation of the mixer, weighs scales, mill and batch off equipment and related equipment. Small Bags position is one where the operator is in charge of weighing out certain amounts of different compounds.

This is a critical position to the compounding department. This position is one that requires great attention to detail, strong work ethic and reliable focus. This is the first position in the task of creating the rubber in which we use throughout the entire company for production.

Position Responsibilities:

Setup and operate mixer.

Setup and operate weigh scales.

Perform material handling to move materials to and from the designated locations.

Record and submit accurate production and quality data, work records, etc., appropriate to the position.

Perform department TPM and/or 5S checklists as assigned.

Follow standard work, line clearance and setup verification procedures relevant to position.

Follow PPE and all safety rules specified for the work area.

Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement activities.

Train others within the work area and be able to perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Position Skills Requirements:

Ability to comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions.

Ability to comprehend and use measuring devices.

Ability to perform the job and meet production and quality targets on a consistent basis.

Ability to use computers and computerized equipment to perform the position responsibilities.

Must possess or be able to obtain certification to operate a fork lift.

Education Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively all throughout the shift.

Ability to stand for long periods of time in a manufacturing environment.

Very typical factory environment with exposure to dust and compounds, noise, and temperature variations.

The successful candidate will work on a team that operates and maintains a high pressure natural gas pipeline system, turbine and reciprocating driven compressor station, gas measurement equipment and other related facilities and is subject to hazardous conditions including; escaping high pressure gas, adverse weather conditions, heights, heavy lifting and cramped conditions. This position is overtime eligible and extended work hours may be required on occasion without advance notice including nights, weekends and holidays. Responsibilities * Blow down purging and pressurization of pipelines and stations * Performing line locates on company pipelines, construction watch, active control, excavation coordination and operation, maintenance and repair of pipeline, valves and operators, regulators, relief valves, reciprocating and centrifugal compression; all within company operating procedures * Actively participates in a team environment by acquiring and applying required qualifications, supporting the development of team members, performing administrative duties and assisting with budgeting, planning, problem solving, prioritization and decision making processes * Safely perform all work activities including operate company vehicle * Performs right of way and other pipeline facility maintenance tasks * Read, interpret and update drawings and schematics (P&ID, electrical, valve charts and alignment sheets) * Properly use a variety of hand and power tools, and other specialty equipment including line finders and leak detectors * Utilize computers and e-mail for internal and external communication, record keeping, on-line reporting, material and supply ordering and filing of various forms * Performs other tasks as defined by the team, and maintains general housekeeping and appearance of assigned team facilities * Subject to call out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and extended workdays and/or workweeks for emergency response purposes * Will be required to carry a cell phone and to work a rotating on-call schedule * May be required to travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings and training involving some overnight stays away from home Qualifications and Education Qualifications * Ability to maintain and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, pressure regulating equipment, valve operators and instrumentation including but not limited to: pressure and temperature * Ability to troubleshoot, operate and maintain gas-fired reciprocating and turbine driven gas compressors, standby generators, low pressure boilers, oil coolers, air compressors, cooler fans and gear boxes, valves and operators and other auxiliary equipment a plus * Candidate must exhibit a sense of urgency, individual responsibility and a willingness to accept constantly changing priorities * Must be qualified or able to qualify in DOT Operator Qualifications, and to advance individual skills as assigned/required by team within defined deadlines * Effective written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative team environment that includes; shared responsibilities, establishing and maintaining good working relationships with others to support team and company objectives and a willingness to work in all areas i.e. Controls, pipeline, or measurement as required by team * Ability to work self-guided with minimal supervision * Must have a safe driving record and maintain a valid driver's license * Must have a strong safety attitude and be environmentally responsible * Knowledge of electronic and pneumatic test equipment used for troubleshooting equipment such as valve operators, transmitters, switches, pressure and temperature end devices Education and Experience * Associates degree including courses in mechanical and pneumatic troubleshooting with electrical knowledge being an asset (Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education) * Experience with medium heavy equipment (Tractor and loader, fork lift) operation beneficial * Relevant oil and gas industry experience would be desired * Industrial experience in a plant environment would be an asset * Experience with locating underground facilities including gas piping, and electrical wires * Depending on the qualifications of the applicants, the successful candidate may be offered a position at a more appropriate level and/or ladder.
