Responsibilities

Team with others to fabricate, assemble, form, finish and inspect a widevariety of structural and non-structural fiberglass, acrylic and othercomposite and metal parts, tools and assemblies. Work from drawings, documents, process specifications, quality control requirements, and established processes and procedures, to assure the timely delivery of quality products to the customer. Perform multi-tasking and multi-machine operation where applicable.

VIEW JOBS 12/6/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-03-06T00:00 JOB SUMMARY: Performs duties to lay-up a variety of composite parts. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: I. Works from work orders, specifications, blueprints, oral andwritten instructions to lay-up composites such as fiberglass, core material andprepreg. Lays-up according to ply orientation of warp, weft, ribbon and fiberdirection, with lap and butt joint standards, in a controlled atmosphere andcontaminate free environment. II. Requires the ability to plan and perform a sequence of operationswhere standard lay-up methods are available, while independent action is alsorequired to use these standards to comply with the different partsconfiguration and geometry. May work under the guidance of other layup techs. III. Obtains specified materials and tools needed. IV. Cuts plys with the use of templates and tools. V. Uses hand pressure and small tools to form and stretch lay-up,while avoiding wrinkles, bridging, air bubbles, gaps, contaminations, etc. VI. Ability to apply basic bagging operations for completions ofstandard operations in lay-up process. VII. Identifies parts for next operation. VIII. Use of tools such as scissors, knives, pushing tools, markers,hammers, and other small tools. IX. Maintains a clean working environment. X. Responsible for own work. XI. Performs other related duties. EDUCATION High school education or equivalent. Textron Aviation Blueprint certification preferred. EXPERIENCE: 6 months of composite lay-up experience or related composite experience. Working Conditions: Working conditions may involve dirt, dust and grease.
