Compliance/Enforcement Investigator 3

The Position

Compliance/Enforcement Investigators perform investigative and enforcement functions to monitor compliance and enforce State and/or federal laws or regulations pertaining to a specific program or regulatory area.

Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform advanced-level work and may provide work direction and training to others. This recruitment is for multiple Compliance/Enforcement Investigator III positions, located within the Department of Business & Industry's, Nevada Transportation Authority (NTA), Enforcement Unit.

The work location is based in Las Vegas with travel throughout the state. The incumbent, through audit and investigations, will assist the Authority in providing effective and efficient operations regarding compliance with and enforcement of federal and state laws and regulations related to transportation network companies, other passenger transportation, the moving and storage of household goods, and towing.

The incumbent will conduct investigations on formal complaints or information gathered from other sources, and draft reports regarding alleged violations of law. Under limited supervision of a Supervisory Compliance/Enforcement Investigator or Chief of Enforcement, the incumbent will serve as a lead worker independently conducting investigations and developing information to address violations within the program area.

Incumbents may be assigned investigations which are considered sensitive or high profile in nature and require a high degree of confidentiality. Investigators in this position may take part in multi-jurisdictional task force operations and will provide assistance or training to other law enforcement agencies or industry partners. Incumbents will take part in special event planning and operations, as determined by the agency.
