The Prince George's County Government Office of Central Services is seeking qualified applicants to fill a Compliance Specialist I/IIposition, grade G18/G21, within its Contract Compliance Unit.

About the Position:

Thisis aprofessional and analytical role within the Contract Compliance Unit that is responsible for conducting data and statistical analysis related to the County's procurement and diversity programs. The incumbent works with planned and systematic processes to ensure compliance with the County's legislation, as it relates to procurement and supplier diversity. Work is performed and evaluated in terms of analytical ability, accuracy, efficiency, completeness, and adherence to policies and procedures, under the general supervision of the Compliance Manager.

Examples of Work

What You'll Do:

  • Perform statistical and data analysis and reporting to ensure compliance with the County's Livable and Prevailing Wage requirements.

  • Assist Senior Compliance Specialists in the development and documentation of new and existing processes for capturing and reporting data.

  • Attend and participate on pre-bid, pre-proposal and pre-construction conferences (as needed), to explain the County's compliance requirements.

  • Gather, interpret and report performance data collected from multiple sources.

  • Maintain and update supplier utilization plans in the Certification and Compliance System (CCS) for tracking, monitoring and reporting purposes.

  • Conduct daily, bi-weekly and monthly reviews of compliance reporting requirements.

  • Attend and participate in meetings related to data sharing/reporting and compliance accountability.

  • Willingly perform other tasks and duties assigned, which may not be specifically listed in the position description; however, are within the general occupational category and responsibility level typically associated with the employee's class of work.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in economics, mathematics, business or public administration, or a closely related field

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2-3 years of contract compliance monitoring experience.

  • Knowledge of the procurement laws and regulations.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Upon selection, the candidate must:

  • Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.

DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY:

Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligible candidates, which will become effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
