The position of the Compliance Specialist is for performing regulatory compliance duties under the direct supervision of the Chief Compliance Officer, to assist in the development and maintenance of a strong compliance management system and to ensure that applicable federal and state banking rules, regulations, and statutory requirements are met.

The essential duties included but are not limited to assisting with compliance functions, procedures and monitoring pertaining to the following:

  • Deposit Compliance

  • Online Training Program

  • Lending Compliance

  • General Compliance

  • Risk Assessments

  • Vendor Management

  • CRA and Community Involvement

  • Audits and exams

  • Files and documentation

  • Special projects as needed.

  • Comply with all federal, state, and local regulatory rules and regulations governing financial institutions, as well as all company policies and procedures.

  • Complete and pass all required regulatory compliance training as assigned.

  • Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

  • Represents the Bank in community, civic, and community reinvestment functions.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma and relevant work experience is required.

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in finance, business or other directly related field is preferred.

  • 2-4 years of experience within a financial services industry, specifically relating to deposit operations, consumer compliance and/or prior exposure to compliance management program requirements is preferred.

  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience in a banking or related environment that fulfils the requirements of the position may be considered.

  • Related military education/experience may be used as a substitute for education or work experience.

  • Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
