What does a great Compliance Specialist- Advisory do at Fiserv?

You will be the cornerstone for compliance monitoring and assurance for Biller Solutions, implementing the compliance monitoring strategy for the business unit. You will collaborate with business partners to define and document the regulatory compliance operating environment and key risk indicators, and build compliance testing plans using a risk based approach.

You can look forward to the following responsibilities:

  • Perform risk assessments and internal control reviews, map controls to applicable regulations.

  • Perform control assessments and tests to validate the strength and adequacy of the control environment with respect to compliance requirements, identify gaps, and recommend remediation where needed to support the compliance obligations of Fiserv and our Clients.

  • Contribute to the establishment of policies and procedures and recommend necessary changes to d procedures, to ensure applicable laws and regulation requirements are met.

  • Prepare formal compliance reports to senior management and for review and approval.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with all business units/groups, and external auditing companies.

  • Coordinate across business functions and in consultation with the Compliance Team and Legal Department for regulatory examinations and audits.

  • Lead and conduct regulatory compliance reviews, audits, self-assessments, and systematic reviews for all products within the scope of responsibility.

  • Recognize and respond to emerging coverage and compliance issues.

  • Provide compliance answers to submitted queries.

  • Work closely with the internal Compliance, Legal and Risk departments for guidance on all legal and compliance matters (including interpretation of laws, regulations and payment network rules, as needed), in prioritizing compliance program efforts.

  • Partner with all Biller Solutions departments to ensure that regulatory compliance requirements are incorporated into product design and development.

  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to implement and execute company initiatives.

  • Represent the company in compliance-related discussions and meetings with internal and external clients.

  • Attend professional meetings, seminars, and continued education programs to remain current in compliance, regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Basic qualifications for consideration:

  • Minimum 5 years of Regulatory Compliance, Audit, or Operational Risk / Internal Control testing experience

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Experience conducting or supporting risk assessments, and applying results to build outcomes using a risk based approach

  • Experience developing compliance monitoring / testing plans

  • Experience with auditing, testing or assessing internal controls for compliance with established requirements, producing reports, and monitoring issue remediation

  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Preferred qualifications for consideration:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • Payments Technology/Industry experience

  • Knowledge and experience defining and applying regulatory compliance requirements to technologies, data and business processes

  • Audit Assurance and IT controls testing experience

  • Compliance policy and process development experience

  • Regulatory training content development experience

In particular, the Compliance Specialist will assist the Compliance Counsel – Network Solutions in improving, implementing and maintaining the compliance program for each business category within the Network Solutions division by reviewing and tracking applicable laws; understanding and interpreting company compliance policies and procedures; providing advice and training; tracking compliance; and acting as a point of contact for certain regulatory and compliance issues as they arise, in coordination with the Compliance Counsel – Network Solutions and other members of the Legal and Compliance Departments and management. As a valued member of the Legal Department, this position has visibility and exposure to upper management in supporting a competitive business within the healthcare industry. Candidates for this position will be based in Alpharetta, Georgia, or Nashville, Tennessee. Key Relationships: * Reports to:Compliance Counsel – Network Solutions Main Responsibilities: * Assist in understanding the application of Corporate Compliance Policies, Procedures and training to Network Solutions, and any changes to them that occur over time. * Identify and maintain a library of training materials, presentations and communications for Network Solutions; assist in keeping them up to date with relevant changes in the business and legal environment. * Understand and assist in interpreting all current laws that apply to the Network Solutions business segments; maintain a repository of summaries. * Research, track and report on new laws, cases and enforcement trends in the Healthcare segment that apply to Network Solutions; update repository as applicable; regularly communicate with clients to understand existing and new business activities which could be impacted by changes in the regulatory environment; assist the manager in understanding potential impacts, and in collaboratively devising a communications and risk mitigation strategy. * Coordinate ongoing compliance monitoring and audit activities, including compiling information for reports and presentations. * Assist with the creation, delivery and/or monitoring of general and job specific compliance training and orientation to Network Solutions employees and others where appropriate. * Document, track, research, investigate and timely advise manager on routine compliance incidents; recommend appropriate actions and collaborate with manager on potential solutions. * Understand and utilize various internal reporting systems; track metrics and general compliance trends and propose and create metrics reports and recommend improvements to compliance tracking and reporting. * Manage or participate in projects involving multiple stakeholders through to completion in a timely, efficient, and collaborative fashion. * Review and analyze relevant documentation and information and assist with preparing timely responses to regulatory compliance inquiries as directed with minimal oversight. * Assist with a Network Solutions compliance communication plan, including channels (such as a Network Solutions Intranet compliance website) to regularly communicate with clients about existing, new and upcoming issues of interest. * Conduct research on other topics as required. Minimum Requirements: Office 365 suite (including Excel), Adobe, PowerPoint, and SharePoint skills preferred. Education and Experience: A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 5 years health care legal or compliance experience with a health-care company, consulting company or law firm working on compliance issues involving HIPAA is required. Experience working directly with health care clients in the technology services and/or payment sector is preferred. A law degree and experience as a health care lawyer is desirable, but not required.
