What does a great Compliance Specialist- Advisory do at Fiserv?

You will be the cornerstone for compliance monitoring and assurance for Biller Solutions, implementing the compliance monitoring strategy for the business unit. You will collaborate with business partners to define and document the regulatory compliance operating environment and key risk indicators, and build compliance testing plans using a risk based approach.

You can look forward to the following responsibilities:

  • Perform risk assessments and internal control reviews, map controls to applicable regulations.

  • Perform control assessments and tests to validate the strength and adequacy of the control environment with respect to compliance requirements, identify gaps, and recommend remediation where needed to support the compliance obligations of Fiserv and our Clients.

  • Contribute to the establishment of policies and procedures and recommend necessary changes to d procedures, to ensure applicable laws and regulation requirements are met.

  • Prepare formal compliance reports to senior management and for review and approval.

  • Maintain effective working relationships with all business units/groups, and external auditing companies.

  • Coordinate across business functions and in consultation with the Compliance Team and Legal Department for regulatory examinations and audits.

  • Lead and conduct regulatory compliance reviews, audits, self-assessments, and systematic reviews for all products within the scope of responsibility.

  • Recognize and respond to emerging coverage and compliance issues.

  • Provide compliance answers to submitted queries.

  • Work closely with the internal Compliance, Legal and Risk departments for guidance on all legal and compliance matters (including interpretation of laws, regulations and payment network rules, as needed), in prioritizing compliance program efforts.

  • Partner with all Biller Solutions departments to ensure that regulatory compliance requirements are incorporated into product design and development.

  • Participate in cross-functional team meetings to implement and execute company initiatives.

  • Represent the company in compliance-related discussions and meetings with internal and external clients.

  • Attend professional meetings, seminars, and continued education programs to remain current in compliance, regulatory requirements and company procedures.

Basic qualifications for consideration:

  • Minimum 5 years of Regulatory Compliance, Audit, or Operational Risk / Internal Control testing experience

  • Financial services industry experience

  • Experience conducting or supporting risk assessments, and applying results to build outcomes using a risk based approach

  • Experience developing compliance monitoring / testing plans

  • Experience with auditing, testing or assessing internal controls for compliance with established requirements, producing reports, and monitoring issue remediation

  • Ability to travel up to 15%

Preferred qualifications for consideration:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • Payments Technology/Industry experience

  • Knowledge and experience defining and applying regulatory compliance requirements to technologies, data and business processes

  • Audit Assurance and IT controls testing experience

  • Compliance policy and process development experience

  • Regulatory training content development experience

Current Need A high level contributing role focusing on all technical accounting matters pertaining to worldwide business transactions and policies within our investment and treasury initiatives. Position Description * Manage business unit and corporate treasury technical accounting matters, conduct GAAP tours, research and prepare technical position papers. Sample technical matters include but are not limited to hedges of financial and non-financial assets/liabilities and forecasted transactions, foreign currency and interest rate hedges, accounting for variable interest entities ("VIEs") and equity method investees, assessments for embedded derivatives, accounting for revolvers and long-term debt, stock repurchase programs, treasury stock accounting, accounting implications of various investment strategies, etc. * Partner with business units and corporate teams to support activities by providing technical accounting evaluation of potential transactions and investment strategies * Provide technical accounting support to business units in connection with the implementation of various changes in accounting policies and procedures and adoption of new accounting standards * Develop and present complex accounting matters/ conclusions to company's management and those charged with governance * Provide support to the internal and external reporting teams by drafting and updating relevant sections of the various SEC filings (e.g. 10-Q/10-K etc.) * Maintain appropriate internal control structure within the assigned area, including periodic updates to the documentation to support our ongoing compliance with SOX framework * Various other ad-hoc projects or initiatives Minimum Requirements 7 years accounting experience including 4 years of managerial experience preferably in banking or other financial services institutions Critical Skills * Must have Big Four experience either currently or in the recent past with the focus on delivering audit or advisory services for financial institution clients, i.e. banking, insurance, real estate, asset management, etc. * Proficient in US GAAP, SOX and SEC reporting matters, including fair value assessments and accounting for complex treasury transactions * CPA required * Strong verbal and written communication skills (ability to develop concise and effective communications tailored to specific audiences) * Strong analytical skills and attention to detail * Strong ability to influence and provide strategic recommendations * Prior experience managing multiple projects, teams, competing priorities, and short deadlines * Proven leadership experience to drive prompt resolution of technical issues, communication of those issues, and process improvement recommendations Additional Knowledge & Skills * Thorough knowledge of accounting policies, practices and systems Education 4-year degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience, CPA required Physical Requirements General Office Demands Benefits & Company Statement McKesson believes superior performance – individual and team – that helps us drive innovations and solutions to promote better health should be recognized and rewarded.
