What You Will Be Doing

Develop and implement mortgage servicing and mortgage related Compliance policies and procedures

Conduct monitoring and testing of mortgage servicing activities to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Provide guidance and advice to Servicing department personnel and management regarding compliance matters and best practices

Maintain and update servicing rules and regulations and provide practical guidance and steps for implementation

Identify potential areas of servicing compliance risk; and develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of risk area

Collaborate with other departments to identify and resolve areas of compliance risk and resolution

Perform various projects as needed, including other compliance-related tasks and duties.

What You Need for this Position

At Least 3 Years of experience and knowledge of:

3+ years of residential mortgage experience, including one or more areas of servicing, underwriting, and/or compliance experience.

Working knowledge of federal and state laws/regulations, specifically Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) laws and regulations, including TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, SCRA, and state servicing licensing requirements.

In addition to Demonstrated experience responding to and managing escalated regulatory consumer and agency issues.

Strong communication and collaboration skills

Attention to detail and strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.

Highly motivated, self-directed, proactive, self-disciplined and team-oriented.

Ability to work independently to complete audits and reviews per compliance requirements and deadlines.

Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and critical thinking skills.

Proficient in MS Office including Excel and Word.

Knowledge of FCRA/FACTA, GLBA, and UDAAP
Experience with Byte Pro or similar LOS

VIEW JOBS 10/16/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-01-14T00:00 The Senior Auditor reports to the Chief Audit Executive The Senior Auditor is responsible for maintaining a comprehensive record of all findings and resolutions for various audits, exams, and independent reviews (e.g., including but not limited to internal audits, regulatory exams, regulatory reviews/visitations, independent audits, external credit reviews, and model validation reviews). The position is responsible for assisting with internal audits to achieve successful completion of the internal auditplan. Incumbent must have experience in internal audit and preferably have attained a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) status or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) status. Incumbent must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task. Requires thorough analytics, exceptional judgement and ability to prioritize and handle matters independently. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for tracking, monitoring, and maintenance, within the internal audit software, of all open and closed issues/recommendations noted in various audits as described above. * Perform follow-up on issues with the Process Owners to include transnational testing, where applicable, to ensure items are remediated/closed adequately, appropriately, and timely. * Provide periodic reporting regarding the status of open and closed issues/recommendations as requested by the IA Manager, CAE, Senior Management, or Audit Committee. * Performs audits or field work independently and/or in conjunction with the Outsourced Partner (OP). * Completes work papers for each audit or follow-up performed, which clearly describe the scope of audit work performed, sampling method and size, results of test work, and any control or compliance deficiencies noted. Retains all supporting documentation in accordance with approved method. * Submits written audit reports, as requested, to the OP and/or IA Manager and/or CAE upon completion of audits that provide recommendations to management for improvements in controls and efficiency. * Prioritizes daily responsibilities and prepares routine project status reports, as requested. * Perform all other duties as assigned. * Maintains audit independence and objectivity in all assignments. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: * Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university is required. * Audit certification such as CPA or CIA is preferred. * Three years of demonstrated successful experience in auditing, with knowledge of Financial Institutions. * Financial Institution Regulatory Compliance knowledge and experience is desirable. * Effective oral and written communication skills are required. * Effective analytical and organization skills are required. * Personal computer skills with working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet skills are required. * Demonstrates a broad application of principles, theories, and concepts in internal auditing standards plus a working knowledge of disciplines related to auditable areas. * Maintains all organizational and professional ethics standards and completes all internal audit work in compliance with internal auditing standards. * Maintains a team-oriented working relationship with OP, co-workers, and audit clients #LI-DD1 Capitalsource Brea CA
