Duties:

The Subpoena Analyst is responsible for managing all requests for information received by CES pursuant to subpoenas, summons, and other forms of legal process issued by governmental/regulatory agencies and third parties in private litigation. Specifically, the Analyst will be responsible for reviewing each request, identifying the records required to respond to the request, and preparing the response to the request. An analysis will be performed on each document request to identify potential money laundering concerns. Any identified issues will then be escalated to the appropriate unit within CES to further investigate and report. The Analyst must have the proper investigative/technological skills required to search various internal systems for the relevant responsive information, and the organizational skills required to document and record the steps taken in responding to each request. The ability to succinctly communicate with law enforcement, governmental agencies, attorneys, and colleagues is also required. The position operates fairly independently as a trusted member of the Consumer Compliance Program within CES and is involved in complex/sensitive legal matters affecting CES.

Detail duties include:

  • Investigating/Responding to Legal Process and Document Requests

  • Review all document requests served on CES by law enforcement, regulators and third parties;

  • Collect responsive internal information and documentation by searching through CESs internal systems and working with colleagues in various departments;

  • Analyze whether certain internal information should be precluded from any production;

  • Prepare responsive document production for each request;

  • Ensure a response is provided on time or, in the alternative, obtain an extension from the issuer;

  • Maintain an internal tracking and record keeping system and supply metrics upon request.

  • Escalation of Legal Process Requests

  • Conduct an analysis on each document request received to identify potential AML concerns or other issues;

  • Refer matters that may warrant an investigation/SAR filing to AML Compliance;

  • Document analysis and conclusion and maintain clear records on matters that were reviewed and escalated;

  • Assist in maintaining procedures for escalation process

  • Provide Support to the Legal and Compliance Departments

  • Assist CES Compliance and Legal Department in conducting research and reviewing a variety of issues related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions obligations; and

  • Continue to increase knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures.

  • Ensure quality and accuracy of data.

  • Provide clear written correspondence at all times.

  • Responsible for accurate and on time reporting on monthly and quarterly basis.

  • Assist in the formal training of all new and existing team members.

  • Responsible for attending meetings, as needed.

  • Adhere to CES business practices.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bi-lingual: English/Spanish;

  • Bachelor's Degree (or minimum two years' experience in Financial Compliance).

  • 2 to 4 years as an investigative analyst or paralegal preferred.

  • 2 to 4 years experience in either drafting or responding to subpoenas or other Legal Process preferred.

  • Previous experience working with regulatory requirements and direct contact with law enforcement required.

  • Excellent analytical skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.

  • Ability to remain organized with multiple interruptions.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.

The ideal candidate would be based in Colorado, northern California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Oregon or Washington. Must be fluent in English and Spanish. The Sr. Compliance Reviewer will establish a close relationship with Business Management, a key ingredient that will contribute to the implementation of an effective and efficient Oversight Program Duties and Responsibilities * Provide anti-money laundering, anti-terrorism and anti-fraud ("AML") compliance support to Ria Agents/Branches ("Agents") to build programs that are in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Section 352 of the USA PATRIOT Act, Regulation E, and other laws and regulations applicable to Money Services Business * Evaluate internal controls and BSA/AML compliance programs for Agents through transaction analyses, program reviews, stress tests, and training sessions * Assess the Agent knowledge of the BSA and other applicable regulations, as well as the effectiveness of the AML Compliance Program implemented by the Agent * Provide BSA/AML and Consumer Protection training to the Agent and its employees * Perform in-depth analysis of agent to detect potential suspicious activity as part of the Agent Compliance Review process * Prepare Agent Compliance Review Reports describing the findings identified during the Review process, as well as the corrective measures recommended to the Agent * Escalate critical/high risk findings to Management and provide adequate and thorough description of the observed findings and the necessary information to determine the proper course of action * Follow-up on outstanding findings and recommendations with the Agents to ensure that the necessary corrective measures are implemented * Conduct investigation on claims and follow thru until solved * Provide claims reports and documentation * Provide a Risk Assessment and mitigation based on findings during the review * Provide an evaluation of the services and suggestions for improvement * Perform other miscellaneous duties as deemed necessary Job Requirements Qualifications * Minimum of one year of experience in a financial institution, or in compliance, risk management, audit or other control-related function in the financial services industry * High School diploma or equivalent * Ability to travel up to 50% domestically and internationally; the remaining 50% of the time will work from home * Fluent in English, Spanish or Vietnamese * Proficient knowledge and demonstrated ability in the Microsoft suite of products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * Ability to assess complex activities to identify potential compliance and/or operational risks * Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, conducting quantitative and qualitative analysis * Excel in effective written and verbal communications * Knowledge of money laundering compliance requirements for money service businesses preferred To the Sr. Agent Compliance Reviewer we offer: * Competitive salary * Competitive hourly pay, overtime opportunities and annual bonuses * Two weeks training in all of Ria's financial services products, proprietary computer system, policies and regulations pertaining to the money service business industry * Dress code is casual professional * Paid time off for vacation, holidays and sick days * Group insurance medical benefit plan Working Conditions * Ability to work from home and travel to assigned territory daily * Travel for one week at a time domestically and internationally * Occasionally travel for two consecutive weeks * Sit for prolonged periods of time as a driver in an automobile * Travel by plane, train or subway Physical Demands * Ability to sit or stand for extended periods About Ria Financial Ria Financial Services ("Ria") is the money transfer division of Euronet Worldwide, Inc.
