This role will support both Sutter Medical Foundation and Sutter Coast Hospital. Travel to Sutter Coast Hospital in Crescent City will be required as part of this role.

The Compliance Program Manager will assist and support affiliate Compliance Officers with oversight and monitoring of the corporate compliance functions for their respective Sutter Health regional organization. Working under the direction of the Regional Compliance Officer, the primary focus will be to:

  • Assist with coordination, implementation and evaluation of the Compliance Plan;

  • Partner with management to conduct compliance risk assessments, to develop compliance policies and procedures

  • Assist in the conduct of internal investigations;

  • Develop and coordinate related education and training activities to ensure they promote an institutional culture favorable to compliance and;

  • Assist with monitoring and auditing activities under the compliance plan.


  • A Bachelor's degree preferably in a health related field required

  • Masters Degree or Juris Doctor degree preferred.

Licensures and Certifications

  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) certification is required. Note: This required certification may be obtained within the first 12 months of hire.


  • Three years experience in a healthcare compliance related role (a year of graduate education may be substituted for each year of required experience).

Skills and Knowledge

  • Knowledge of healthcare clinical operations, hospital revenue cycle systems, healthcare billing & coding requirements, or other healthcare compliance issues.

  • Knowledge or training in healthcare compliance strongly desired.

  • Strong judgment, interpersonal and communication skills required.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a wide range of staff, including clerical staff, peers, physicians and senior management.

  • Requires demonstrated excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrate ability to organize, plan and coordinate work flow of others, and to work effectively with managers to achieve compliance with objectives.

  • Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive material, and exercise good judgment as it relates to handling of sensitive material.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Powerpoint & Excel preferred.

This position has responsibility for general office management to include payroll, budgeting, vendor management, and a variety of other afterschool and summer camp program business-related activities. JOB DUTIES: * Supervises and evaluates all teacher assistants, afterschool staff and summer camp staff to ensure that they are in compliance with all NLCI policies and procedures as well as state and local requirements as it relates to the before and after school program. * Prepares and develops teacher assistants, afterschool and summer camp staff to support the before and after school program. * Oversees scheduling of all teacher assistants, afterschool staff and summer camp staff. * Creates, develops and implements curriculum for the afterschool and summer camp program and ensures it is aligned with the philosophy of the school. * Successfully markets the program to internal and external customers. * Maintains all supplies, equipment and materials necessary to successfully run the program. * Manages budget and ensures integrity in all financial matters. * Manages external vendors to ensure compliance with NLCI policies, procedures, and standards. * Recruits and orients qualified hourly staff, including recruiting staff for future needs. * Complies with all emergency procedures appropriate to the site to ensure the safety of the children and staff. * Ensures the cleanliness of the school facility by directing staff and maintaining a regular cleanup schedule. * Participates as a member in Merryhill School committees, as required by Head of School. EXPECTATIONS: * Works in a team environment and encourages open communication regarding concerns/issues with children, parents, or coworkers. * Initiates and maintains positive relationships with school staff including principal, secretaries, custodial staff and teachers of key importance to the afterschool programs. * Problem solves and makes sound decisions, as needed, in accordance with good professional judgment, honesty and integrity. * Demonstrates high degree of integrity and honesty, including but not limited to, confidentiality of company, student, family, and employee information as required by both company policy and federal and state laws. * Provides clear expectations to staff and acknowledges individual contributions. * Keeps Head of School/ Principal aware of all school issues and ensures consistency of communication. ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: * Bachelor's degree required. * 3+ years' experience managing staff required. * 2+ years' experience overseeing afterschool and/or camp-related programs. * Prior experience working in a K12 school environment preferred.
