About the Professional Licensing Agency:
The Indiana Professional Licensing Agency seeks an individual to help protect the health and safety of the citizens of Indiana by providing quality, efficient service to all professional licensees, applicants, and the public. The fundamental purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the board director, and the licensing board/commissions, and to directly supervise the customer service representatives' projects across a broad scope of career opportunities. The salary for this position traditionally starts at $35,568.00 per year but may be commensurate with education and/or experience.
The Indiana Professional Licensing Agency is seeking a Compliance Officer to complete inspections/investigations of licensed Indiana facilities. This person ensures that all facilities are properly licensed and operating under safe and sanitary conditions as required by Indiana Board statues/rules. This person helps protect the health and safety of the citizens of Indiana by providing quality, efficient service to all professional licensees, applicants and the public.
This position will cover the following counties:
Hendricks, Warren, Fountain, Parke, Clay, Vermillion, Vigo, Tippecanoe, Montgomery, Putnam, Owen and Clinton
A day in the life:
The Compliance Officer will be responsible for conducting and/or coordinating the following activities and other projects as assigned by the Compliance Director
Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing with agency customers including applicants, licensees, board members, other state, federal and other local officials and the general public
Prepare and file Consumer Complaints against licensees or unlicensed persons and businesses with the Attorney General's Office and serve as a witness as required
Enforce compliance with laws, statutes and rules of various boards or commissions regulating the licensing of professional trades and businesses licensed by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency with accurate knowledge of all rules and statutes involved and in a timely manner
Research advertising, files, records, statues and rules to insure proper licensing and compliance under the jurisdiction of Board of the Professional Licensing Agency
Investigate complaints from the public, regulatory agencies, businesses or licensees regarding alleged violations or irregularities of licensing requirements or professional conduct
Inspect assigned facilities, new and routine inspections will be conducted for cleanliness, proper ventilation/equipment sanitation and as needed to operate within the required guidelines
Six (6) years work experience in program coordination; development; implementation; or accredited college training in a related field.
Strong organizational skill and attention to detail
Ability to manage resources in an effective manner
Ability to write coherently and accurately
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred knowledge of State and Federal laws, rules, regulations and requirements (comparable knowledge of Indiana Criminal Code or other regulations acceptable)
Applicant must have a valid driver's license and driving record that would permit them to operate a state vehicle
Applicant must also pass a FBI criminal background check
Basic knowledge and experience of inspections, investigation processes, performing audits, compiling corrective action plans and reporting mechanisms
Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Access
Ability to be a credible witness in court cases
