Compliance Manager

This role will help support our training and communication team in Compliance. Need to be very organized, good communicator, and innovative. Responsible for managing foundational and strategic compliance responsibilities with consistent excellence that support the team and management.

Primary duties for this managing level position, with moderate to advanced complexity and broad/enterprise scale may include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage/oversee projects, initiatives, regulatory audits or exams, internal audits, accreditations, on-site reviews, risk assessments; audit planning, conducting mock audits, conducting audit training, managing audit evidence preparation, assessing audit preparedness.

  • Establish project plans, gap analysis, milestone dates, and other significant aspects, and leadership updates.

  • Maintain knowledge of laws, regulations, company strategies to assess impact, and consult with clients as subject matter expert.

  • Conducts complex investigations, document findings, and ensure corrective actions are made.

  • Interface with external clients, regulators, vendors, supplier; internal stakeholders, high level of management.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a BA/BS; MS/MBA/JD or professional designation preferred; at least 6+ years of health care, regulatory, ethics, compliance or privacy experience

  • Or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

  • Ability to travel may be required.

  • Must be located in an Anthem office.

  • Experience working with the development, design, and execution of online training videos strongly preferred

  • SharePoint experience preferred

  • Oracle or additional learning management systems experience preferred

  • Organizational experience and strong verbal and written communications

Assess the business line's compliance with applicable internal policies and procedures, the adequacy of internal controls, and compliance with SEC, FINRA, MSRB and applicable State laws/regulations. Job Duties The ideal candidate will perform the following essential functions: * Conduct compliance testing of the business unit's retail broker dealer and investment advisory activities to ensure adherence with applicable procedures and regulatory requirements; * Identify and recommend corrective action necessary to address compliance gaps or improve adherence to regulatory requirements; * Develop a strong understanding of the business line's key risks and corresponding controls; * Evaluate the adequacy of business line's controls; * Maintain thorough documentation of work performed and support for conclusions; * Provide detailed written reports summarizing findings and present to Senior Management; * Participate in compliance projects and initiatives, as necessary; and * Keep abreast of legal and regulatory matters affecting. Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience * Ten or more years of experience in an applicable risk management environment * Applicable certifications Preferred Skills/Experience * 3 years of experience in testing/regulatory compliance activities; * Strong knowledge of broker dealer and fee-based investment advisory operations; * Strong knowledge of laws and regulations associated with broker dealer and investment advisory activities; * Professional demeanor with strong oral and written interpersonal communication skills; * Self-starter with the ability to manage the workload and handle competing priorities; and * FINRA 7, 63 or 66 licenses. * Thorough understanding of the business unit's operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls; * Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies; * Strong process facilitation, project management and analytical skills; * Business acumen and credibility; and * Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications.
