We are currently seeking a Compliance Manager with proven experience in overseeing compliance frameworks, managing regulatory engagements and handling the full spectrum of Compliance matters, including AML/CTF as necessary, for our India trading operations.

From our India office, this role will take the lead in managing local compliance matters, as well as working collaboratively with colleagues in all of our Asia Pacific, USA and Europe locations.

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, APAC, the Compliance Manager will partner with key stakeholders and support strategic business initiatives related to SIG's India trading operations.

Collaboration: You will partner closely with our Infrastructure, Project Management and Strategy Developer Teams to deliver and manage scalable and highly performant systems to support trading in the region and globally.

From week to week the role asks you to:

  • Develop and oversee programs and systems to ensure compliance with regulations, governance and internal policies across the India trading business

  • Provide SIG with insight and guidance on all applicable Indian compliance matters

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with regulators, brokers and exchanges in India to stay abreast of new regulatory developments and industry best practices in compliance

  • Develop strong relationships with corporate counsel (internal and external) and all parts of the business to monitor compliance with relevant standards and regulations

  • Partner with key stakeholders to assess business strategies and identify compliance risks and solutions

  • Lead efforts in the generation of presentations, training and communications, and statutory reporting requirements

  • Provide guidance to the IT department on the development and testing of IT systems and controls

  • Maintain and review all applicable compliance system trading controls.

  • Develop and maintain regulatory programs, compliance manuals, policies, and procedures, as well as their effective implementation.

What we're looking for

  • Implement a monitoring plan to review trading by SIG entities on a post trade basis.

  • Interact with SIG compliance colleagues in Asia Pacific, USA and Europe for cross border compliance projects.

  • Compliance Knowledge

  • Deep knowledge of NSE trading, clearing and settlement rules, regulations and associated market practices.

  • Deep knowledge of SEBI rules, regulations and circulars.

  • Knowledge of major regulatory developments & topical compliance issues across Asia.

  • Working knowledge of the India Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) regulatory regime.

  • Working knowledge of India's Prevention of Money Laundering Act and associated regulatory expectations.

Applicant Requirements :

  • 10+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, equities and/or derivatives market experience/exposure preferred.

  • Professional and/or industry qualifications preferred.

  • Ability to provide presentations and training to colleagues as required.

  • Ability to draft and review compliance policies and procedures.

  • Working knowledge of reviewing IT system development from a compliance perspective.

  • Strong ability to interpret regulations and legislations

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information to all levels in English

  • Exhibit a strong solution focused approach which leads to timely resolutions

  • Work autonomously and as a member of the wider APAC team.
