Job Summary

The Compliance Manager, reporting to the Director, Compliance, will play an important role in shaping and managing Green Dot's future-state core compliance programs, including performing compliance risk assessments, testing and monitoring, advising the business on operational matters and resolution of compliance issues, assessing the impact of business or regulatory changes, informing the development of compliance policies, and generally executing on other compliance risk management activities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Advise relevant stakeholders as the compliance SME on compliance requirements and solutions to mitigate risks with appropriate controls.

  • Perform compliance risk assessments to evaluate inherent risks associated with applicable laws and regulations, identify controls that mitigate compliance risks, assess control strength and determine residual risks.

  • Validate the effectiveness of controls related to areas of compliance risk.

  • Monitor activities and information to evaluate or detect trends that can indicate increasing or decreasing compliance risks.

  • Perform root cause analyses and compliance oversight of corrective action plans to remediate issues identified through compliance risk assessment, monitoring and testing activities.

  • Manage regulatory changes to identify new applicable laws and regulation and changes to applicable laws and regulations.

  • Facilitate impact assessments if regulatory change is identified.

  • Draft and maintain compliance policies to conform with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Review and support development of procedures to adhere to compliance policies.

  • Support enhancements for ongoing development and reporting of key metrics (e.g., KRIs and KPIs) to internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and board committees.

  • Facilitate external reviews (e.g., regulators and partners).

  • Support the Compliance organization with other second-line compliance responsibilities.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of experience in Compliance, Law or Risk Management, preferably in a financial institution, payments organization, law or consulting firm or regulatory agency.

  • Knowledgeable in consumer protection, banking and payment regulations.

  • Understanding of and experienced with the three lines of defense model.

  • Experienced in developing and enhancing compliance program components and frameworks for FinTechs and/or financial institutions, including drafting policies and procedures, developing training materials, and performing compliance risk assessments,

  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills and ability to synthesize information and make clear, concise recommendations on courses of action.

  • Ability to prioritize and maintain focus on multiple tasks while working in a team environment with diverse stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth and dynamic environment.

  • Proven skills in relationships building and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical skills and a demonstrated aptitude to think creatively and identify new ways to approach common problems.

  • Project management and technology skills a plus.

  • Proficient with MS Office Professional programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

  • Excellent report and presentation design, preparation and delivery skills.

  • Bachelor's degree required, advance degree preferred (JD, LLM or MBA) and law degree a plus.

  • CRCM or other relevant compliance certification a plus.

Responsibilities The VP Privacy is responsible for the development and execution of CIT's privacy program and coordinating with business functions to meet these obligations. A successful candidate will be knowledgeable on a range of Privacy topics and skilled at driving execution with cross-functional business teams. The VP, Privacy position is responsible for the following:• Understanding the applicable data and privacy laws and regulations that apply to the Company and advising on those requirements;• Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Company's Privacy Policy and other related policies to protect personal information and other information belonging to an individual, as defined and required by Sections 501(a) of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, CAN-SPAM, and other relevant privacy laws and regulations;• Promoting awareness of, and compliance with, privacy requirements, and working cross-functionally with the first line of defense to implement privacy policies and to ensure that the appropriate privacy protections are in place;• Overseeing the adequacy of privacy controls within consumer-facing business lines;• Supporting the development of the required notices and disclosures and working with the business teams to ensure that they are distributed as required by law;• Working with the marketing teams to ensure customer marketing choices are presented and applied in appropriate channels;• Assisting the consumer businesses in the development of effective privacy procedures and conducting periodic reviews of the procedures when necessary;• Supporting the development and completion of inherent risk questionnaires and control guidance in support of the Company's annual risk assessment process;• Coordinating and working with the consumer businesses to complete Privacy Impact Assessments, where necessary;• Supporting triage efforts when unencrypted personally identifiable information is compromised and make any determinations on breach notification with the Law Department; and• Supporting the development of the framework and content of the Company' Privacy Program training. Qualifications * Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, teamwork and problem-solving skills which have resulted in exceeding goals and targets;• Demonstrated skills in verbal communication and listening;• Excellent writing skills;• A high level of integrity and trust; and• Extensive familiarity with regulations related to the financial services industry, including the protection of customer information.
