Job Purpose:

Executes the framework for providing objective assessments of the Company's compliance with regulatory and organizational requirements


Essential Duties:

  • Conduct or direct the internal investigation of compliance issues.

  • Assess product, compliance, or operational risks and develop risk management strategies.

  • Identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation.

  • Maintain documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes.

  • Provide assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews.

  • Responsible for the compliance tasks to move forward with new payment technologies and into more challenging U.S. markets.

  • Respond to the ever-developing compliance requirements of the financial processing field.

  • Effectively work with all GovPayNet departments when needed including Sales, Finance, IT, and Customer Services.

  • Coordinate with the compliance functions of company affiliates in the Securus organization.

  • Responsible for an ongoing governmental-focused Internet research initiative identifying current payment practices and potential opportunities nationally in targeted counties and municipalities.

  • Administer Freedom-of-Information efforts to assist Sales in strategic planning.

  • Monitor statutes relevant to company operations for amendment.

  • Superior writing, communication, and organizational capabilities

  • Skilled in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Ability to work independently, spot and solve problems, and initiate projects


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 4 years' experience in a financial services compliance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate

  • Experience in money transmitter compliance, including use of NMLS

  • Experience in the payments industry including cards, ACH, lockbox, etc.

  • Experience working with public agencies and/or government contracting

  • Experience in responding to external compliance audits and regulator reviews

Physical Requirements:

Standing, sitting, walking, speaking, listening, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping and manipulating tools, typing, using peripheral computer tools. May be required to lift up to 25 pounds.
