Now hiring a COMPLIANCE MANAGER to join our team at Abraxas Youth & Family Services in the Chicagoland area to oversee Licensing & Accreditation our Southwood Interventions & Woodridge Interventions programs.

As a COMPLIANCE MANAGER, you will provide consultation and technical assistance regarding licensing, contractual, and accreditation compliance, policy development and implementation, data collection and analysis, process improvement, and the implementation of an effective process for on-going monitoring and evaluation of the programs.

Salary Range: $75,000 to $80,000 Annually

Job Type: Full-time

QUALITY & COMPLIANCE MANAGER

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversees licensing, contractual and accreditation compliance for an assigned group of programs.

  • Works with the Executive Directors to prepare for licensing inspections, contractual reviews, and accreditation surveys, includes gathering of required documentation.

  • Prepares all action plans developed to address licensing, contractual and accreditation citations or areas of non-compliance. Monitors the implementation of action plans to verify compliance.

  • Conducts annual corporate audits and follow-up audits on programs and provides feedback related to licensing, contractual or accreditation requirements.

  • Provides technical assistance and education on licensing, contractual and accreditation standards, including as-needed in-service training regarding the implementation of licensing, contractual, and accreditation standards.

  • Develops monitoring systems to assist with licensing, contractual, and accreditation compliance and consistent implementation of program and divisional policies and procedures.

  • Prepares meeting agendas, coordinates meetings, maintains meeting minutes, and develops other documentation related to on-going monitoring and evaluation of the program.

  • Collects and maintains data; prepares reports, data displays, charts, graphs, and other illustrations.

  • Assist programs with implementing process improvement projects, best practice transfer, and program procedures and protocols.

  • Provides technical assistance and support while participating in the development of Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

  • Participates on various internal and external committees as needed.

  • Liaison with licensing and contract representatives (e.g., inspections, complaints, child abuse investigations)

  • Complete Annual License Renewals

  • Verify completion of external incident reports (e.g., HCSIS Reports, MD Incident Report Form RCCP/CPA).

Oversee Joint Commission Accreditation:

  • Monitor compliance with standards.

  • Training and technical assistance to all employees when needed.

  • Update application annually and monitor extranet site.

  • Organize and oversee survey includes all preparation and gathering required documentation.

  • Develop and submit all corrective action plans (e.g., Evidence of Standards Compliance)

Assist Executive Director with the Leadership Meeting:

  • Develop meeting agendas and track follow-up items.

  • Develop and maintain meeting minutes.

  • Data collection, tracking, and presentations for analysis.

Assist Safety Officer and Infection Control Officer:

  • Assist with the development of meeting agendas and track follow-up items when needed.

  • Assist Safety Officer in monitoring fire drills and emergency drills.

  • Verify compliance with Joint Commission requirements.

  • Facilitate and organize data collection, presentation, and analysis (e.g., Workplace Violence incidents, Injuries, Infection Control data, Physical Interventions)

  • Complete annual requirements for updates and analysis (e.g., EOC plans, Infection Control, Hazard Vulnerability Analysis, WVPP Annual Analysis).

Policy Development and Monitoring:

  • Responsible for managing the policy directory.

  • Provide policies when requested (e.g., licensing, contracting agency)

  • Develop new and revise existing policies when needed.

  • Submit new and revised policies to the Leadership Team and AYFS Policy Council for review and approval.

  • Distribute new and revised policies to facility employees, as appropriate.

  • Verifies compliance with Joint Commission requirements.

  • Complete annual policy updates (e.g., Environment of Care Plans, Infection Control Plans)

Privacy Officer for Facility:

  • Report HIPAA incidents to the Chief Privacy Officer

  • Gather information and complete required report to address HIPAA incident.

  • Verify annual HIPAA training is completed with all employees.

Training and Technical Assistance:

  • Provide guidance, training, and consultation to Leadership Team, supervisors, and employees regarding licensing requirements, accreditation standards, and contractual requirements.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Masters degree in social sciences, healthcare or related field and three years of quality and compliance experience; OR
  • Bachelors degree in social sciences, healthcare or related field and five years of quality and compliance experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of the principles and use of tools used for data collection, data analysis, and performance improvement.

  • Knowledge of applicable licensing (e.g., DHS, SUPR, DASA), contractual, accreditation, and certification standards.

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices related to the residential treatment of dependent adults and delinquent and dependent youth; including treatment of co-occurring disorders, substance use disorder and mental health.

  • Proficient writing skills (e.g., formulate and/or revise policies and procedures, develop corrective action plans/responses to licensing and contractual entities).

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form, with a diverse group of people including regulatory agency representatives, employees, clients, governing body members, and the general public.

OTHER HIRING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available for periodic travel with overnight stays.

  • Ability to self-start, work independently and adhere to timelines on a consistent basis with a minimum of assistance and supervision.

  • At least twenty-one (21) years of age

  • Driver's License

  • Physical exam that includes TB and drug testing.

  • Criminal clearances (State Police, FBI and State Child Abuse Clearances)

  • Satisfactory completion of background screening and applicable pre-employment checks, including but not limited to employment and/or personal reference and driving records.

  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.
