Position Purpose & Summary

This position is responsible for assisting Cargill's Commodity Markets Compliance Group activities across global derivatives, cash and logistics markets. There will also be responsibility for customer facing risk management solutions structuring and compliance activities for North American businesses and assist as necessary with other CPRS activity.

The position requires expertise in legal, regulatory, tax, and accounting compliance issues of derivatives and cash market-based risk solutions. Position will provide training and advice, escalating to Director as necessary.

Principal Accountabilities.
40% - Serve as a key compliance professional for all derivatives and physical market trading for the North American regional businesses, and primary contact for all Advisory matters in same. This includes acting as the key contact for SROs, National Regulators, and other regulatory entities. Coordinate with embedded and commercial resources to identify existing derivatives-based risk solutions, support business to structure, document, and gain approvals for new solutions, and establish approach to identify when activities deviate from approved solutions. Coordinate with the swap dealer to ensure consistency across compliance activity. Evaluate monitoring processes and work with business to address deficiencies. Coordinate with Compliance Officer in maintaining compliance activities on exchanges, including: CBOT, CME, NYMEX, MGEX, ICE Futures US, ICE Futures Canada, Liffe, Matif, and other exchange markets. Monitor regulatory enforcement actions across the region and feed into the compliance monitoring activities.
25% - Facilitate PAF renewal process in region, provide CPRS and CMCG / other compliance training.
25% - Develop relationships with business resources, and indirectly influence business compliance activities.
10% - Provide content update to the CMCG website and business partners on relevant regulatory updates and rule changes.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent

  • 10 years of compliance, trading, finance or commercial experience (or similar relevant)

  • Understanding of commodity markets (cash, logistics and derivatives) activities

  • Strong analytical skills; exceptional communication skills (verbal and written),

  • English fluency

  • Ability to deal in ambiguity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in advising corporate senior management

  • Ability to identify adjacent regulatory or non-regulatory issues arising from a specific set of facts (tax, legal, finance, accounting)

  • Outside networks to bring insight to compliance considerations

  • Spanish / Portuguese a plus

Two years' experience is required and must include: modernizing existing supply chain and business capabilities that will result in cost savings including direct experience defining or establishing planning and statistical forecasting concepts and algorithms, including triple exponential smoothing, neural networks, and ARIMA models; supporting efforts to define full business potential through due diligence efforts to help size the initiatives and targets for performance with experience in employing lean and six sigma principles to create business improvements and cost savings; implementing an advanced planning and optimization tool (such as SAP APO, JDA, Logility, or Kinaxis) in a multibillion dollar business; and leading the design and deployment of an Integrated Business Planning process in a multibillion dollar business; OR (2) Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or related field plus 5 years' experience in supply chain related activities.
