Assist in the ongoing progression and maintenance of the company's compliance program efforts, including but not limited to regulatory research, policy and procedure development, training and education initiatives, and monitoring of key compliance controls.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain and update regulatory databases.
Coordinate and assist in preparation of responses to regulatory inquiries.
Formulate, affect, interpret, and implement compliance policies and procedures as needed.
Assist in the development and provision of compliance training to employees, medical staff and independent consultants.
Coordinate, assist or conduct compliance investigations as required, which may include inspections of company policy and regulatory adherence, as well as inquiries into suspected or reported deviation from compliance program requirements.
Develop and prepare reports of factual observations, findings and recommendations designed to improve compliance.
Maintain logs of inquiries and track research and disposition of compliance issues raised by senior management, employees, business partners and external auditors.
Develop and prepare reports of compliance program activities.
Assist with reporting to governmental agencies in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain and oversee compliance department databases.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone's responsibility. Minimal travel is required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree preferred, may substitute equivalent work experience.
Paralegal studies certificate preferred
Certification as CHC, CCEP or willingness to become certified preferred but not required.
Significant regulatory compliance experience required.
Minimum 2-4 years previous healthcare compliance related experience, preferably with knowledge in anti-kickback statute, EMS and DEA regulations.
Knowledge and Skills:
Ability to perform detailed work accurately and within agreed upon deadlines.
Team-oriented, with an ability to value a diverse and geographically dispersed team.
Strong knowledge of Medicaid /Medicare regulations and CMS guidelines combined with an ability to contemplate critically how those impact an organization's operations.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle highly sensitive information with discretion.
A high degree of professionalism to engender respect and build rapport as a knowledgeable and helpful resource within and outside the compliance team.
Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan, prioritize and accomplish goals.
Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required.
Superlative oral, written and interpersonal skills that convey proficiency, professionalism and respect.
