NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Compliance Detection Lead. The Compliance Detection Lead gathers data on information systems and device configurations, which is used for system identification, maintenance, cyber threat assessment and investigation, vulnerability detection, or system exploits. The candidate should have experience with and understanding of DISA information assurance vulnerability alert (IAVA) announcement of a computer, application, software or operating system vulnerability.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Leads the IS Audit Team to ensure cybersecurity readiness is a primary objective in the management of all hosting environments.

  • Manages resources in support of cybersecurity initiatives while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders on behalf of cybersecurity operations and projects.

  • Provides oversight and guidance to the organization in support of policies, procedures and processes and executes the collection, evaluation and reporting activities for Command Cyber Readiness Inspections (CCRI) Grading Criteria and other assessments.

  • Leads a team that assesses cyber security posture (e.g., STIG implementation, vulnerability scan status, Computer Network Defense [CND] compliance) and develops executive level compliance reports

Requirements

Required/Desired Skills:

  • A familiarity with data center design including systems, storage and networking

  • Possess a MA/MS degree in computer studies, security, or related field.

  • Experience with DoD required; Navy or Marine Corps preferred

  • Experience with U.S. government cyber security processes, procedures, and directives

  • Experience with audit readiness preferred

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, to include developing and delivering reports and presentations

  • Strong research and analysis skills

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft products such as, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel (required); Microsoft Project (preferred)

  • Training or experience in project management, stakeholder management, and scheduling concepts

  • Ability to be self-motivated and demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Ability to facilitate client meetings and workshops, and track tasks to completion

  • Ability to confidently interact with senior-level client personnel, including preparation for and participation in executive level briefings

  • Experience leading teams towards common goals and deliverables

  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, team environment

  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and innovation

  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability

  • Ability to foster mentoring relationships within practice

  • Other duties as assigned

Other Requirements:

  • Must possess and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance (SSBI only)

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of urgency including self-governance on task priority

  • Travel as required
