Reporting to the Assistant Compliance Officer, the Compliance Application Administrator/Analyst is responsible for managing all department applications and ensuring the data is accurate and complete. The CAA is also responsible for preparing reports from all department applications and preparing summaries for management which may include dashboards, graphs, flow charts, diagrams, spreadsheets and visual presentations. The CAA must be skilled in data mining, identifying and analyzing significant trends in the data and skilled at interpreting the data as it relates to significant compliance risks. Responsibilities to include:

  • Primary point of accountability for all departmental applications to ensure all are current and performing as designed.

  • Primary point of contact with vendors related to complete and accurate data, security, and user access for department applications.

  • Primary point of contact with MLH Information Technology (IT) related to department applications and data requests from IT.

  • Responsible for implementing all new features and upgrades to the department's applications and training staff on enhancements.

  • Produces accurate, concise and timely reports from Compliance Office applications.

  • Analyzes data for accuracy and clarity.

  • Proficiency in creating, developing and designing presentations including graphs, flow charts, diagrams and dashboards.

  • Proficiency in handling large data files and analyzing those files for significant trends.

  • Proficiency in data mining including using large data sets to identify risk areas within professional and facility claims data.

Education: Bachelor's degree required.


  • Three to five years' experience in a health care environment working with applications and writing reports.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required as well as use of Word.

  • Database management skills including report writing.

  • IBM Cognos skills preferred

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written/oral communications, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to work both independently and within a team setting.

As a key team member responsible for work product, you will be working directly on client projects in support of broad client engagements. The Benefits Advisory and Compliance Service (BAC) provides governance, operational, compliance, vendor and defined contribution consulting services for the full array of qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, as well as health and welfare plans. As such, we help clients fulfill their fiduciary obligations and achieve plan effectiveness. In this dynamic role as a Senior Analyst, you will contribute as part of a team to the range of BAC services and projects focusing primarily on define contribution (DC) plans. You will work with mid and senior consultants as well as interface with clients to answer questions, resolve issues and complete projects. You will have the opportunity to significantly enhance your knowledge of all aspects of benefit plan compliance, design and operation, employ the most cutting edge tools and resources and work with some of the world's experts in retirement plan design and management and interact with a national group of BAC resources on project delivery. Responsibilities: * Perform projects related to Defined Contribution retirement plan compliance, vendor management, fiduciary management and plan design * Perform non-discrimination testing * Prepare annual Form 5500s in accordance with plan provisions * Complete forms and necessary plan and financial schedules * Become a technical resource to clients and client teams. * Respond to queries from consultants, clients and plan members with respect to plan provisions and resolve/escalate any problems or issues * Draft plan amendments and summary plan descriptions, and review employee commitments * Assist with compliance corrections * Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams * Demonstrate natural ease and effectiveness when dealing with clients/colleagues at all levels * Deliver work in accordance to project deadlines * Deliver on projects to meet or exceed client expectations * Increase efficiency within client teams by identifying ways to improve processes * Note that visa employment-based non-immigrant visa sponsorship and/or assistance is not offered for this specific job opportunity. The Requirements : * Undergraduate degree required; Advanced degree (JD) and/or certification (ASPA, CEBS) is a plus but not required * 1+ years of experience in employee benefits, retirement, health and welfare or consulting with a focus on compliance, plan administration, or recordkeeping.
