About the team:

Our team ensures all FIS products and services impacted by United States federal laws and regulations are compliant. We do this by administering an enterprise-wide compliance program that includes prompt analysis and communication of new and revised rules and regulations, providing guidance on existing rules and regulations, reviewing products and services for compliant practices and initiatives, and managing corrective actions where needed to ensure compliance.

What you will be doing:

As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with United States federal laws and regulations for the prepaid card division under the direction of the Compliance Manager for that division. Your supporting duties will include researching compliance issues, analyzing solutions for compliance, and monitoring existing processes for compliance gaps and opportunities for improvements. A broad overview of responsibilities will include the following:

  • Collaborates with the prepaid card program divisions to identify compliance needs.

  • Maintains open and continual communication with prepaid card program divisions to stay up to date on existing programs, contemplated changes, and new programs.

  • Ensures Prepaid Compliance Manager is fully informed on events occurring within the prepaid card program divisions.

  • Works under the direction of the Prepaid Compliance Manager to confirm compliance requirements needed for the prepaid card program divisions.

  • Maintains knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

  • Monitors and communicates regulatory changes that impact FIS prepaid card program activities.

  • Offers guidance on implementing regulatory changes.

  • Communicates detailed requirements to prepaid business unit and related departments, validates compliant solutions approaches and monitors status.

  • Provides compliance reviews and direction for new and expanding products and services.

  • Responds to issues and matters pertaining to regulatory compliance of FIS prepaid card program activities.

  • Performs periodic reviews and evaluations of FIS prepaid card program activities to validate compliance with applicable laws and regulations or detect regulatory violations, weak controls or other potential areas of exposure.

What you bring:

  • Prior experience in payments or banking operations is required. Prior prepaid card program experience is preferred.

  • Good analysis, listening, and communication skills

  • Strong writing and organizational skills

  • Strong independent work ethic is required. Strong team working skills is also required.

  • Working knowledge of depository or operational banking regulations

  • Ability to understand technical documents and legal or regulatory reference materials

  • Ability to understand and apply learned concepts

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and complete work within tight time limitations

  • Ability to apply creative problem-solving techniques and tools to compliance issues

Highly Preferred:

  • Certifications or diplomas in regulatory compliance, accounting, or internal audit.

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or law or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.

Advanced professional role requiring high skill with extensive proficiency. Works independently with only administrative supervision and the ability to overcome major obstacles and recognize early when issues should be escalated or an expert needs to be consulted. Wide latitude for independent judgment and is expected to provide guidance and cross-training to others. Effectively communicates with all levels of technical and non-technical personnel. This level is expected to lead compliance support activities and ensure effectiveness of the Compliance Program for assigned products, services and business activities. Responsible for regulatory oversight of core or significant high risk product lines that contain complex banking functions. Considered a subject matter expert in several areas of regulatory compliance, including a combination of banking regulations. Typically requires five or more years of experience in the regulatory compliance field.
