Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Utilize Excel and organize work papers to prepare periodic premium tax and assessment filings, ensuring timely and accurate filings and payments.
Perform general ledger entries and reconciliations for premium tax and assessments.
At times working independently, locate, interpret and apply state regulations and instructions.
For assigned areas, own organization and time management to meet frequent deadlines.
Other duties and projects, as may be assigned.
Works cooperatively with others to achieve shared objectives.
Identifies and executes on the steps necessary for project completion.
Readily tackles tough assignments with organization and attention to detail.
Researches multiple sources and synthesizes findings.
Persists in accomplishing objectives despite occasional obstacles.
1-3 years of experience.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Proficient with Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
Experience with general ledger software, particularly Oracle, highly desirable.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
This job operates in a professional office environment, routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some mobility is required.
May work early, late, or occasional weekend hours to accommodate business needs
Occasional lifting of a maximum of 30lbs.
Minimal travel to other office locations/meeting location may occasionally be necessary
