Overview

Amtrust Financial Services, a fast growing commercial insurance company, is seeking a Complex Claims Consultant. This position can be located in one of our claims offices, with the possibility of working remotely. The successful candidate will directly handle the most complex claims for our Commercial General Liability and Automobile Claims books of business. The successful candidate will evaluate coverage issues and risk transfer opportunities as well as ensuring appropriate investigation of the underlying facts and circumstances is carried out, proper experts are retained and utilized where necessary, selection and utilization of counsel is appropriate, and proper negotiation strategy is employed. This position reports to the Director of Complex Claims.

Responsibilities

  • Recognizing exposures and ensuring reserving is appropriate and timely

  • Evaluating coverage issues and risk transfer opportunities

  • Ensuring appropriate investigation of the underlying facts and circumstances is carried out, proper experts are retained and utilized where necessary, selection and utilization of counsel is appropriate, proper negotiation strategy is employed.

  • Effectively communicate exposures both internally and externally

  • Overall responsibility for formulating proper resolution strategy to ensure best total outcome.

  • Position may require periodic travel to attend meditations, trials and / or other related meetings

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in the handling or litigating of complex commercial general casualty claims

  • Proficient computer skills required to navigate our paperless claim file system

  • Possesses a high level of technical claim and legal knowledge and skills

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral

  • Ability to professionally interact at a high level with parties both internal and external to AmTrust

  • Easily adapts to changing situations requirements or priorities

  • Ability to effectively influence others without damaging relationships

  • Skillful negotiator

  • Law Degree preferred

DPG is seeking a highly motivated professional with experience in predictive modeling and data analysis to join their Debit Card Fraud Risk Management team as Credit Portfolio Consultant 2. This role is highly dynamic and will require critical thinking and a tactical approach to problem solving. Major responsibilities: * As part of the Fraud Risk Management Team, Utilize advanced analytic capabilities to perform event-based and root cause analysis to effectively detect and mitigate fraud risk for the Wells Fargo Credit & Debit Card Portfolio * Research, develop, evaluate, and execute new and existing fraud compromise detection and mitigation strategies * Drive new and improved fraud monitoring and detection capabilities including creating insightful dashboards / data visualization to track and monitor key business metrics * Translate complex data from multiple sources, formats, data structure into actionable and tangible strategies * Partner with Debit Card Operations, Debit Card Product, Debit Fraud Claims, Compromise Management, and Strategy Implementation teams to understand and analyze all fraud mitigation processes including transaction decisioning, post-decision customer contact/analysis, and fraud claims processing * Establish and review appropriate MIS reports to detect the latest fraud trend / compromise and translate into actionable recommendations * Stay current with new and developing payment methods in the credit or debit card space and proactively identify the fraud risk that each method may create * Querying large data sources to support data driven risk detection/mitigation strategies without compromising customer experience Required Qualifications * 4+ years of risk experience * 2+ years of SQL or SAS experience * 2+ years of experience with analytical methods used in statistical analysis, modeling, and reporting Desired Qualifications * Knowledge and understanding of fraud risk and mitigation: strategies to reduce or mitigate loss and fraud exposures * Ability to analyze metrics and articulate data trends both visually and verbally * Experience with predictive analysis software or applications such as Knowledge Studio or Knowledge Seeker * Predictive modeling experience (including logistic regression) * Experience designing and optimizing complex SQL queries involving table joins and correlated sub-queries on large scale data tables * Outstanding problem solving and analytical skills with ability to turn findings into strategic imperatives * Ability to work in a fast paced deadline driven environment * Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills * Ability to present to multiple levels of management * Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills * Tableau experience * Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas Other Desired Qualifications * A Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline is desired * Experience analyzing large data sets, identifying trends, with the ability to articulate findings when presenting to key business stakeholders * Debit or Credit card experience * Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively and learn quickly in a rapidly changing environment and function efficiently under short deadlines Street Address CA-SF-Financial District: 525 Market St - San Francisco, CA CA-Concord: 1755 Grant Street - Concord, CA Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
