Here is how the Completions Planning Engineer role will impact our business:

The Completions Planning Engineer will develop comprehensive long term completion project plans that ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective well operations supporting the Completions Planning sub department. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and execute completion strategies aligned with company goals and utilize advanced engineering principles and software to optimize completion layouts, equipment placement, traffic routes and fuel and power needs for completions projects. Additionally, they will analyze and interpret completions operational data to support forecasting models that support the Completions engineering and operations teams.

The Completions Planning Engineer I/II/III/ IV/ Sr responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Planning and Design: Create detailed completion programs which includes site layouts, staging optimization and engineered traffic routes

  • Long-Range Planning: Develop long-range strategies that align supplies to forecasted resource demands. These resources include but are not limited to sand, water, equipment, fuel, site layouts and route layouts.

  • Budget Planning and Lookbacks: Prepare detailed budget plans for completion projects, track expenditures, and conduct lookback analyses to assess performance against financial targets.

  • Demand Forecasting: Utilize historical data and predictive models to forecast resource needs for future completion projects, including materials, personnel, and logistics.

  • Project Management: Oversee long-range planning projects from conception through approval, and perform post job lookbacks to ensure our models and assumptions are holding up to expectations.

  • Technical Analysis: Conduct thorough analyses of historical completion execution data to support completion project decision-making processes.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with completions engineering, completions operations, 3rd party vendors, permitting & construction, logistics, midstream, operations schedule coordination, production teams to ensure seamless integration of completion project plans with overall company objectives.

  • Quality Control: Implement and monitor quality assurance processes of the inputs and outputs to ensure the integrity and reliability of our efficiency and cost forecasting models

  • Way We Work Templates:

  • Project Costs (Projects): Develop and maintain cost templates for completion projects to ensure accurate budgeting and financial tracking.

  • Project Design (Blueprints): Create and update blueprint templates for project designs, ensuring consistency and compliance with EWDs and vendor contracts

  • Execution Procedures (Playbooks): Develop and refine execution playbooks to guide project implementation, ensuring adherence to best practices and operational efficiency.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering field.

  • Most recent work experience with a peer-leading operator executing unconventional shale projects

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in planning, strategic planning, or engineering or operations planning role

  • Experience with completions engineering and completions operations, with a strong background in planning and execution.

  • Proficiency in software and tools, such as CAD, ArcGIS, WellView, or equivalent.

  • Proficiency in a modern coding & analytics, such as SQL, Python, and PowerBI, or equivalent

  • In depth knowledge of strategic planning principles, logistics management, and project management

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Experience with planning completion projects in Appalachia

Remote work is approved for this role excluding the following states: Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, Louisiana, New Jersey, and New York unless willing to relocate.

Selected incumbent will be placed into the position that best suits their abilities and experience level.
