Ivy Tech Evansville seeks a full-time Completion Advisor to support our Evansville, Indiana campus. A Completion Advisors supports dual credit and dual enrollment K-12 initiatives that lead to dual credit and dual enrollment programing and an Ivy Tech credential prior to graduating high school. Completion Advisors create academic plans aligning to an Ivy Tech credentials. They also advise and share with all stake holders that Ivy Tech is a viable option to support students in their college and career journey.

This is a full-time in person position.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Advise dual credit students about pathways to academic degrees and transfer opportunities with Ivy Tech by creating individual academic plans/degree trackers.

  • Maintain, update, and distribute dual credit, dual enrollment, and credential attainment resource materials to college and high school personnel.

  • Monitor academic progress of assigned dual credit and dual enrollment students.

  • Promote dual credit and dual enrollment opportunities to high school staff, students and parents.

  • Provide academic advising support for dual credit and dual enrollment high school as well as homeschool students leading to a credential completion.

  • Travel to various schools and maintain a mobile office at times.

  • Coordinate Dual Enrollment informational sessions with high schools, students, and parents.

  • Manage the registration process for assigned dual enrollment students, monitor their academic progress, and ensure completion of their dual enrollment courses.

  • Maintain contact with assigned students throughout high school encouraging them to continue to enroll in courses with the goal of certificate/pathway completion prior to high school graduation.

  • Develop relationships with area high schools who have dual enrollment programs and maintain communication with the partner schools providing updates on student academic progress.

  • Assist with transition events for high school dual enrollment students which highlight the benefits of attending Ivy Tech Community College.

  • Establish consistent communication with dual credit students via email in order to transition them to degree/certificate Ivy Tech students.

  • Provide career pathways to convert high school dual credit students to degree seeking or certificate tracts.

  • Leverage career services department to provide career exploration and job market statistics so students can make informed decisions about life after high school.

  • Working with academic leadership, high school counselors, students, and parents to develop and guide students through pathways to credential completion when possible.

  • Monitoring academic progress of dual credit students and providing ongoing academic advising support for those students.

  • Collaborate with Registrar in auditing and awarding credentials at the end of each semester.

Hiring Range:

  • $35,000-45,000 per year based on experience.

Work Hours:

  • Typical business work hours, may be adjusted to meet course scheduling requirements or during peak times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, public affairs, social services, or related field.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience

  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate, implement, and evaluate program(s).

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Good public relations skills and self-motivation

  • Must possess required knowledge and skills of computers and related software applications for program planning and implementation, including record keeping

  • Must have reliable internet access for mobile office or work at home environment

  • Must be able to administer and interpret assessment results

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in K-12 or college-level preferred. Training, or teaching experience with young adults preferred.
