We are looking for a senior manager of competitive intelligence who will play a vital role in enabling sales and technical teams to win against key competitors in the SD-WAN market. In this hands-on role, you will research and develop rich, detailed knowledge of key competitors' strategies, positioning and products and present this information back to the Silver Peak sales and SE teams as well as partners in a format, frequency and level of depth that will enable them to proactively, and where necessary, reactively, counter competitors' claims. The ultimate goal is to enable direct and indirect sales teams to clearly position Silver Peak to win. This is an individual contributor role that reports to the VP of Product and Technical Marketing and will work closely with our Sales organization and Silver Peak partners.ive

How you'll make your mark:

  • You will have an initial focus on several key global competitors, the competitive intelligence leader will develop a deep understanding of the competition's.

  • You will manage corporate and product messaging, positioning and strategy

  • You have technical capabilities - key features, functionality, scalability, integration with 3rd party solutions, etc.

  • You will manage major announcements - and what they mean from a competitive perspective

  • You will handle pricing and discounting - for end customers, channel partners and SPs/SIs

  • You will be involved in organization structure, key executive appointments, changes, etc.

  • You will play a key role in go-to-market strategies, investments, activities, focus, etc.

You will manage information gathered through multiple sources, including:

  • Feedback from Silver Peak sales and SE teams

  • Feedback from Silver Peak partners

  • Silver Peak customer and partner events

  • Relevant industry events

  • Published industry news and material (press releases, analyst reports, independent third-party test reports, webcasts, podcasts, blogs, social media)

  • Competitors' published content (product specification, deployment guides, Web pages, white papers, marketing material, etc.)

  • Attendance at competitors' conferences, trade shows, presentations, webinars, etc.

The competitive intelligence leader will review and analyze competitive information, then create material to be delivered through various vehicles such as:

  • You are accountable for monthly written competitive bulletins (general round up of all relevant competitive news)

  • You will conduct monthly webinars (focus on one major competitor, deeper dive on technology, products, new releases, pre-recorded, internal podcasts

  • You are responsible for weekly competitive "clinic" (max. 60 minutes) for sales teams to bring forward and request assistance on how best to combat competitive threats and FUD in a specific account

  • You will manage real-time emails (within 24-48 hours of major news)/lunch and learns as needed for significant, timely changes

  • You will execute presentations/updates at sales new hire, QBRs, SLTs, SKO, Partner Summits, etc.

About you:

You have 10+ years in a similar position (e.g. competitive analyst, technical marketing engineer, technical sales engineer, technical product manager) in the networking and/or security industry

You have proven ability to create and deliver engaging and effective technical and non-technical presentations to internal and external audiences

You are highly experienced in digesting technical content, analyzing it and determining key value propositions and challenges and compare and contrast to Silver Peak SD-WAN offerings

You have outstanding written and verbal presentation skills

You have a proven ability to work across multiple organization.

You have a bachelor's degree in related field. MBA or advanced degree

As the Senior Business Intelligence Lead supporting the finance community you will be responsible for delivering optimal end to end reporting solutions. This role will align closely with both the finance organization and the IT EDW and BI team. The individual in this role will drive reporting improvements across finance through various means including optimizing the use of the newly implemented Snowflake Datawarehouse. Ultimately, this role will work to establish and manage a prioritized list of reporting requirements across the finance organization, delivering new reports and automation of existing reports through the use of Power BI and coordinating with IT on development as necessary. In addition to a focus on reporting improvements, this role will focus on Master Data Management in support of Finance as well as continuing the effort to prioritize and coordinate the build-out of the newly delivered data warehouse in terms of identifying additional sources of data, and defining reporting standards. You will need to utilize strong Master Data Management competencies and MDM Implementation expertise to identify, evaluate, and develop systems and procedures that meet finance user requirements. The person in this role will be expected to deliver reporting solutions with fully documented back-up and to work with IT to ensure a completely documented data dictionary and solution architecture. Lastly, while this role will get up to speed on the nuances of Sophos through an initial focus on delivering prioritized reports, the role will quickly become part of a major transformation program that will be kicking off company-wide. In this program, we ask this individual to work across the business functions to align on reporting definitions and solutions. An ability to understand business process issues and communicate technical solutions is essential to your success in this role. Project management skills and a customer service orientation is key.
