The Competitive Intelligence Associate plays a vital role on the Distribution Operations Team. The role works closely with the key distribution stake holders to analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to support strategic decision-making and enhancement of our firm's competitive positioning in the asset management industry. Reporting to the Director of Distribution Operations, the role collaborates closely with various internal teams, including Executive Management, finance, and sales & marketing teams to gather, analyze, and disseminate actionable intelligence.
Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000
Specific placement within the provided range will be determined by an individual's geographic location as well as relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Associates may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon Firm and individual performance.
Responsibilities
The candidate can expect to:
Utilize data to assist in setting strategic direction, identification of competitive intelligence and providing key reporting for our global distribution team
Synthesize complex data into actionable recommendations
Proactively engage with distribution team members and executive leadership to develop and maintain reporting tools/dashboards to enhance decision making related to the distribution function
Analyze information and create presentation quality reporting in an easily digestible format, suitable to the audience.
Understand data and deliver insightful feedback from data analysis
Be a trusted partner to senior sales professionals for competitive intelligence including strategy positioning, industry trends, and presentation support
Serve as a direct link to distribution teams regarding topics such as investment forum materials and sales finals materials prep.
Coordinate and support our Global Distribution Governance Committee efforts (run meetings, gather topics, follow ups, perform analysis)
Primary contact for consultant databases (relationship management with our outsourced provider; quarterback internally, troubleshooting)
Board material presentation, analysis, and support (Mutual Fund, UCITS, Private Funds)
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:
A minimum of 3 years of experience working in the financial services/asset management industry
Expertise with Tableau and data blending tools such as Alteryx
Experience with Salesforce application and data model
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build relationships across an organization
Strong analytical skills with ability to grasp business issues and understand business strategy
Self-motivated with strong work ethic
Ability to prioritize and manage several projects simultaneously
CFA preferred
