About the team

Zillow Group is looking for a Compensation Program Manager (PM) to join our Human Resources and Total Rewards team. The Compensation PM will help build, implement and administer our compensation programs, and impact how we improve and scale new compensation programs in our evolving business.

About the role

  • You will assist in the management of a portfolio of HR projects focused on administering annual HR programs, improving current business processes, and resolving system/process gaps

  • You will develop project plans including performing necessary background research, estimation of effort and resources, defining the value of the project, project landmarks and identifying key partners

  • Maintain clear communication throughout project life-cycle including development and maintenance of project plans, process management, project documentation, monitoring of project deliverables and timelines, engagement of subject matter experts and partners, and assessment to ensure projects meet their objectives

  • Work with HR Business Partners to design changes to existing processes are understood and accepted by the business; pivot on design ideas where appropriate to ensure that end results best support the business

  • Partner with the HRIS team to understand Zillow Group's configuration in Workday; influence project decision-making as appropriate knowing system functionality and limitations

Who you are

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration or related field

  • 2-3 years of Human Resources project management, or compensation experience

  • Strong customer focus; prior consulting experience a plus

  • Knowledge of HR programs and systems - prior experience with Workday is highly preferred

  • Demonstrable ability to practice a high level of confidentiality

  • Has shown ability to diagnose problems using critical thinking skills and drive appropriate solutions.

  • Able to handle workflow, with minimal oversight, in a fast-paced environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities.

  • Minor amounts of domestic travel may be necessary

The Role * Drive operational excellence in the execution of Redfin's variable compensation programs * Define and drive projects from end to end - from the initial idea phase to the successful rollout and execution * Partner with cross-functional teams in HR, Legal, Finance, Analytics, and Engineering, as well as Executives and Real Estate leaders to gather requirements for compensation programs and coordinate resources needed to quickly and effectively implement programs. * Develop project plans including estimating effort and resources, defining the scope of the project, building project timelines, and identifying key partners * Communicate regularly and effectively with all stakeholders on program status throughout its lifecycle * Identify and manage risks associated with compensation programs * Streamline and standardize processes that enable consistent execution and allow for continuous improvement of new and existing programs Skills & Experience * Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (graduate degree or MBA a plus) * 4+ years of relevant work experience in program/project management; experience managing HR or compensation-related projects strongly preferred * Experience working on compensation for a sales or commission-based organization a plus * Experience working with and integrating large data sets across multiple systems * Ability to build strong partnerships with all levels of leaders quickly * Strong communication skills and the ability to convey technical details clearly to peers and management * Ability to think long-term in your design and execution to make compensation programs better and more scalable as the business grows * Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with multiple (and sometimes changing) priorities What We Offer * Competitive compensation packages with salary, bonuses, and restricted stock grants * Generous benefits, including three weeks of paid vacation, medical, dental, and vision insurance, and fully-paid family leave * Strong startup culture with catered lunches, casual dress code, happy hours, and more To make sure we hire the most qualified people, we've designed a multi-step selection process which may include interviews, a homework assignment, and a reference check.
