Oversees the development, implementation, and maintenance of specific assigned aspects of the Region's compensation function (clinical, non-clinical, union, wage & hour compliance and/or systems and reporting). Manages the development and administration of job descriptions, job evaluation processes and salary surveys.
Establishes salary structures, develops salary budget recommendations and drafts compensation policies and/or pay practices to ensure the achievement of equitable and competitive compensation programs. Works with line management and/or Labor Relations to assess competitive labor market trends.
Maintains a working knowledge of federal and state wage and hour laws and labor contracts that may affect compensation policies and practices.
May be responsible for incentive, bonus plan design and program administration to attract, motivate and retain employees. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Responsible for recruitment, selection, development, training, management of compensation staff.
Provides day-to-day leadership to Compensation professional staff in a matrixed environment.
Builds high performing project teams in a collaborative environment with other department managers.
Creates an environment conducive to sharing of successful practices across the entire compensation team.
Provides mentoring and coaching of staff. Manages staff performance to ensure timely and seamless support to clients.
Participates in the development of a high functioning, responsive, customer service oriented department with easy access to information for managers who seek advice related to compensation issues.
Manages projects and programs in support of a region's total compensation strategy.
Manages overall compensation program design and administration for small region or large segment within a large/complex region.
Responsible for specific area of focus (clinical, non-clinical, union, wage & hour compliance, systems & reporting).
Establishes and sustains strategic relationships with key constituents and clients.
Represents Compensation on inter-departmental/cross-regional projects & task forces.
May support/advise the Labor Management Partnership & Labor Relations function.
Consults with Human Resources Business Partners and ELR Consultants on compensation-related issues.
Collaborates with Legal on wage and hour issues.
Collaborates with HR Business Partners and ELR Consultants as appropriate to ensure consistent compensation program interpretation and application.
Ensures compensation programs and pay practices are in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Monitors and ensures consistent administration of compensation programs and pay practices.
Minimum three (3) years of supervisory, leadership, management and/or project management experience.
Minimum of five (5) years of compensation or human resources experience to include salary administration.
Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field OR four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) preferred.

Effective communication and presentation skills.
Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office and other software applications.
