Overview

Bicycle Casino is seeking a highly motivated Compensation & Benefits Manager to join our dynamic HR team. We are a collaborative team looking for the newest member of our squad. The Compensation & Benefits Manager will manage several functions within the HR department and should be well versed in all aspects of Human Resources. This is not a remote position.

Essential Duties

Benefits Administration

  • Partners with broker to ensure viable benefit offering, including plan design, strategic planning, benefits forecasting, and monitoring usage trends.

  • Manages, plans, and evaluates team member health and welfare programs, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability programs, retirement plans and other benefits plans.

  • Administers and ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with the accurate eligibility information.

  • Serves as primary contact for third-party administrator.

  • Documents and maintains administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.

  • Oversee and maintain employee benefit files, maintain group benefits database and updates employee payroll records.

  • Assists employees and managers regarding benefit claims issues and plan changes. Responds to benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollment, status, etc.

  • Distributes all benefit enrollment materials and determines eligibility.

  • Maintains employee benefit filing systems and ensure benefit changes are entered correctly.

  • Verify the calculation of monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Resolves any administrative problems with carriers/broker. Administers and ensures the accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with the accurate eligibility information.

  • Serves as primary contact for third-party administrator.

  • Documents and maintains administrative procedures for assigned benefit processes.

  • Oversee and maintain employee benefit files, maintain group benefits database and updates employee payroll records.

  • Assists employees and managers regarding benefit claims issues and plan changes. Responds to benefit inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefit enrollment, status, etc.

  • Distributes all benefit enrollment materials and determines eligibility.

  • Maintains employee benefit filing systems and ensure benefit changes are entered correctly.

  • Verify the calculation of monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Resolves any administrative problems with carriers/broker.

  • Processes and administers al leave of absence requests and disability paperwork, medical, personal, disability and FMLA.

  • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they related to leaves of absences and disabilities.

  • Stays informed of new benefit-related laws, regulations and trends. Performs research and analysis related to benefit plans.

  • Oversees Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance and reporting. Responsible for annual reporting to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.

  • Responds to State in ACA inquiries.

  • Communicates and educates staff on benefit offering and retirement plans.

  • Develops and implements a team member wellness program.

  • Assists team members with benefit related inquiries and issues.

  • Specific tasks may include but are not limited to: coordinating and hosting open enrollment; initiating team member communications and writing newsletters; administering team member benefits and compensation programs; posting and distributing required notifications; and preparing reports for insurance carrier. Ensures COBRA program is administered in compliance with current laws.

Establish close and professional partnership with management.

Education: Four-year degree in Human Resources or a related discipline or equivalent preferred. PHR /SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification a plus.

Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience in compensation and benefits management.

  • Strong writing skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability and desire to train others and serve as a change agent

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and a track record of interacting and communicating well with all management and team member levels

  • Strong computing skills demonstrating proficiency with human resources information systems, payroll and Microsoft Office software

  • Ability to review information in a factual and neutral manner, analyze data and prepare reports and documents in a timely manner

  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel

  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours

  • Passion for our owner's vision and desire to work in a casino environment
