Assists in the analysis, design, and administration of employer compensation programs, including base pay, incentive pay, and performance management programs. Evaluates jobs, determines pay grades, participates in compensation surveys, and performs associated analysis. Ensures that requests for pay adjustments comply with current compensation policy.

Researches, analyzes, evaluates, and administers corporate benefit plans and programs. Monitors benefit trends in the business environment and must stay abreast of applicable benefits legislation. Assists in determining impact of new policies or provisions.

Essential Functions


  • Works with CHRO to design and document written compensation policies and program guidelines for managers/supervisors, program and executive leadership

  • Provides guidance and interpretation of compensation policies/programs, evaluates changes and requests for updates

  • Ensures up to date and compliant job descriptions

  • Conducts review of job levels, assesses and makes determinations regarding requests for new job titles and updates job current descriptions in the library with input from other human resources staff members and program and/or executive leadership

  • Prepares and accurately responds to annual salary surveys to ensure proper job mapping and thorough completion of survey questionnaires

  • Provides recommendations on survey resources for review of consortium-wide compensation and benefits practices

  • Conducts regular and off-cycle benchmarking review activities, performs data analysis and formulates recommendations to ensure competitive compensation and benefit programs that are consistent with Childhelp's compensation philosophy

  • Researches and provides recommendations on variable pay practices such as shift differential, on-call, call-back and other healthcare/residential care specific variable pay types

  • Conducts regular review of position classifications to ensure compliance and accuracy with FLSA requirements

  • Works with the HR Generalist to regularly review HRIS records to ensure accuracy and data integrity within the HRIS (ADP)

  • Assists CHRIO with enterprise-wide compensation projects as directed


  • Administers benefits and wellness plans to include participating in the planning and implementation of employee programs such as open enrollment; ensuring ongoing ACA compliance including production of the annual 1095 statements; overseeing the administration of company benefits and wellness programs including vendor management; documenting and maintaining plan administration guidelines and procedures consistent with legal requirements and sound business practices

  • Serves as subject matter expert for system business requirements and data for benefits administration including business process configuration and benefit event processing; and troubleshoots issues by analyzing systems issues partnering closely with HRIS (ADP), HR team and vendors as needed to implement fixes

  • Enables benefits analytics to include assisting with budget and cost projections for benefit plan; monitoring and analyzing actual costs and trends; monitoring competitiveness of current health and welfare plans, defined contribution plans and wellness programs, and periodically conducting in-depth analyses and benchmarking studies; ensuring appropriate audit and controls are established and working with CHRO to develop metrics and dashboards to analyze and evaluate administration of benefit programs

  • Ensures compliance to include ensuring benefit administration processes and documentation are meeting all legislative and internal business requirements: recommending, developing, implementing and revising benefits administration processes as necessary to confirm continued compliance with laws such as ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act, etc.; conducting reviews, as needed, of benefit administration processes to ensure compliance; keeping current with legislation pertaining to benefit and wellness plans; and serving as first point of contact for all inquiries related to benefit compliance requirements, audits, reporting, or issues.

  • Leads benefits communications to include serving as the lead for benefit communications; developing and delivering clear, concise and relevant employee communication regarding benefit and wellness programs and events; developing content for newsletters, email and other benefit communication pieces; and working closely with the internal communications team to align messaging with the overall employee communication strategy.

  • Manages vendor administration to include day-to-day vendor management; working to ensure best participant experience, ensuring quality measures are in place and testing such quality measures, internal and external control checks/monitoring, and system testing/requirements amongst other items as designated; and creating and tracking project plans for all vendor management activities and projects



  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum two years previous experience with compensation and benefits administration

  • Knowledge of ACA, COBRA, HIPAA, ERISA


  • Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills to include communicating clearly, effectively, tactfully, and patiently to a diverse population

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and positive demeanor with the ability to build rapport and garner trust with others

  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills

  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in high-pressure situations

  • Proficient in the use of a PC in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel, PowerPoint

  • Proficient in the use of HRIS systems

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Conducts competitive benchmarking and survey analysis to assist with the evaluation of the Company's salary ranges, grade levels, short-term and long-term incentive program design, and other compensation programs. * Assists in the administration of the Company's nonqualified deferred compensation program, including facilitation of annual employee enrollment, assistance in the preparation of communication materials, communication with employees regarding the program, and coordination of periodic account distributions. * Provides information to employees, managers and Human Resources regarding compensation programs and practices in support of the objectives and operation of the business; serves as a resource to managers and Human Resources in completing job descriptions; provides guidance regarding appropriate salary range for newly-created positions. * Assists in the administration of the Company's equity program, including supporting the annual and quarterly equity grants; prepares and disseminates summary reports to gather management recommendations; coordinates periodic restricted stock and restricted stock unit releases, ensuring timely communication, preparation of information for finance, legal and external transfer agent to ensure a smooth process flow; and addresses employee issues either directly with the employee or in concert with the external stock plan administrator. * Assists in the development and dissemination of effective communication materials that enhance the understanding and value of compensation programs. * Performs compensation analysis and/or research. * Performs other job related duties as assigned or apparent.
