Opendoor is looking for a Compensation Analyst to support its rapidly growing population. Reporting the Head of Total Rewards, you will be a thought partner in developing and improving our compensation structure. In this role you will:

  • Use your expert analytical skills combined with your strong communication skills to present compensation insights to stakeholders in all parts of our business

  • Partner with department leaders, HR Business Partners and recruiters on compensation related matters such as offers, promotions, and internal transfers

  • Perform analysis on the effectiveness and competitiveness of compensation programs, and model potential impact of alternatives

  • Assist in the administration of the annual and mid-year review cycles

  • Stay up-to-date with applicable employment-related federal and state statutory requirements regarding employee pay. Stay up-to-date on current compensation-related legislation

  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners in the administration of the job architecture

  • Participate in annual compensation surveys

  • Review salary survey participation data including audits, validation, benchmarking reviews and making recommendations

  • Level and map job roles to our compensation structure

  • Conduct job evaluations and market assessment using market data and internal evaluations

  • Work cross functionally to provide compensation analyses and other deliverables to our partners on the Finance and Legal teams

  • Partner with People Operations team to audit, update and maintain compensation-related data in Workday

We're looking for an individual who has:

  • Strong data analysis skills and can effectively present those findings to different audiences

  • The ability to work with stakeholders to find the right questions as well as their answers

  • A highly collaborative style, and ability to work as part of a team as well as independently

  • Solid understanding of compensation survey data and can leverage that data to drive competitive pay decisions

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel (e.g. working knowledge or ability to learn: vlookups, nested functions, pivot tables, charts/graphs, etc.)

  • Basic understanding equity compensation and can provide information to employees to help them understand this important component of pay

  • The ability to adapt quickly and continue providing the highest level of customer service in a fast-paced, change-oriented environment

  • A bachelor's degree in economics, business, finance or STEM

  • Experience maintaining compensation and incentive plans, with a minimum of 3+ years experience in compensation

Even Better:

  • Experience in a software development company

  • Combination of high-growth private and public company backgrounds desired

  • Maintains working knowledge of Radford (Aon Hewitt) and ERI

  • Completed/In process of completion the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) requirements

  • Has experience in two or more of the following areas: Workday, Tableau (or similar tool), Equity, Sales Compensation, Compensation Consulting

In addition, the Compensation Analyst I assists with administering the Company's nonqualified deferred compensation and equity programs. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: * Conducts competitive benchmarking and survey analysis to assist with the evaluation of the Company's salary ranges, grade levels, short-term and long-term incentive program design, and other compensation programs. * Assists in the administration of the Company's nonqualified deferred compensation program, including facilitation of annual employee enrollment, assistance in the preparation of communication materials, communication with employees regarding the program, and coordination of periodic account distributions. * Provides information to employees, managers and Human Resources regarding compensation programs and practices in support of the objectives and operation of the business; serves as a resource to managers and Human Resources in completing job descriptions; provides guidance regarding appropriate salary range for newly-created positions. * Assists in the administration of the Company's equity program, including supporting the annual and quarterly equity grants; prepares and disseminates summary reports to gather management recommendations; coordinates periodic restricted stock and restricted stock unit releases, ensuring timely communication, preparation of information for finance, legal and external transfer agent to ensure a smooth process flow; and addresses employee issues either directly with the employee or in concert with the external stock plan administrator. * Assists in the development and dissemination of effective communication materials that enhance the understanding and value of compensation programs. * Performs compensation analysis and/or research. * Performs other job related duties as assigned or apparent. QUALIFICATIONS: * 1 year of experience in Human Resources, Compensation, Benefits, Finance or related field.. * Bachelor's degree. * Strong proficiency with MicroSoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point); advanced Excel skills including pivot tables and formulas . * Understanding of basic compensation or financial fundamentals, statistics, or cost analysis. * Process oriented with strong attention to detail and organization. * Self-starter with excellent time management skills and the ability to organize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. * Strong ability to follow through and see projects through to completion. * Demonstrates respect for employees at all levels of the organization by responding quickly and appropriately to their requests. * Ability to work independently, as well as, effectively and efficiently within a team environment. * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Effective interpersonal communication across various levels of the organization.
