Summary: This position is responsible for developing, implementing and consulting with all levels of management regarding non-officer compensation programs and special incentive programs. Ensure compliance, recommend, and implement new and revised compensation programs, policies, and procedures in order to be responsive to the company's goals and competitive practices.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Consult with all levels of management on base pay programs. Including:

  • Coordinate the administration of the annual merit salary increase process (e.g., communications, spreadsheet collection process, audit & approval of merit recommendations, creation of statistical reports, and oversight of the payroll upload process),

  • Oversee the processing & audit of off-cycle merit & promotional salary adjustments, and

  • Analyze, recommend, implement, and communicate annual changes to the salary schedule (pay grades) and merit salary adjustment matrix.

  • Independently manage and consult with management on job classifications for all non-officer jobs, including job design, job analysis, job description documentation, evaluation and pricing for internal and external competitiveness.

  • Using a market pricing job evaluation methodology, evaluate and grade job descriptions. Assist managers in the writing and development of job descriptions and job families.

    Ensure consistent grading and internal equity across Grange's various lines of business. Using Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) regulations, determine and assign exemption classifications (exempt vs. non-exempt) for all new and existing job descriptions.

  • Direct and ensure compliance with all state and federal compensation statutes and legislation, including: FLSA (determining exemption status of jobs and monitoring classification of associates); minimum wage; pay equity etc. Partners with General Counsel regarding compliance issues and strategies.

  • Oversee the selection, participation/completion, review, and analysis of third-party compensation surveys. May create and administer independent compensation surveys.

    Use appropriate data to create analyses comparing the company's compensation levels versus market. Analyses may be prepared for individual jobs, departments or company-wide.

  • Consult with all departments on pay decisions, policy and guideline interpretation and job evaluations, including the design of creative solutions to specific compensation-related problems/issues.

  • With minimal oversight, manage to completion a variety of special projects as assigned.

  • Evaluate current processes and identify, recommend, and implement improvements.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE COMPANY:

Bachelor's degree or comparable education and experience preferred; Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation highly desired. Four or more years of broad-based experience in the analysis and administration of compensation processes strongly preferred.

Must have strong oral and written communication skills. Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate compensation and job evaluation decisions to all levels of associates & management. Must have experience creating and maintaining database applications and extracting data for presentation in a logical manner.

Must be proficient with various software packages including spreadsheet, database, and word processing applications, expertise with Microsoft Office products required. Must be a self-starter, well organized, detail oriented and have confidence to work independently but also be a strong team player.
