About Transmission and Distribution Southern CaliforniaEdison's (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organization (T&D) isresponsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintainingtransmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mileterritory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safelyand reliably deliver electricity to 14 million residents via SCE's 5 millioncustomer accounts. Position Overview This position will be inthe Distribution Construction & Maintenance (DC&M) ConstructionMaintenance division within Southern California Edison's (SCE) Transmission& Distribution Organizational Unit. The successful candidate will performwork site and electric distribution design review to ensure design, materialsand validates correct application of unitized contract are appropriate to meetproject goals. Responsibilities may include: * Working in a lead role to coordinate multiple projects. * Perform and validate unit price tasking in support of electrical line source contracts. * Evaluating project status and instituting changes as needed to maximize crew efficiency. * Performing inspection and analysis of customer installations to meet construction standards, G.O. 95 and G.O. 128 standards, and applicable construction methods and safe work practices. * Finalizing job site readiness. * Consulting with planning staff, as needed or requested, to ensure design and materials meet project goals. * Possibly filling in for Project General Supervisor role. * Some after hours and on call duty required. * Maintaining a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. * Performing other responsibilities and duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements * Must have a minimum of three years of experience performing construction and maintenance activities, overhead and underground design, or inspection of the electrical distribution system. * Must possess a valid U.S. Driver's License. Desired Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. * Experience using California Public Utilities Commission standards or construction/maintenance standards (i.e., GO95 and GO128) to ensure constructability and safety standards are met. * Experience working from construction work orders. * Experience resolving conflict and negotiating win-win resolutions. * Experience analyzing problems and developing and implementing plans/tactics, with limited information and under tight time constraints, to ensure proper allocation of resources and construction site readiness. * Effective time management skills and demonstrated experience planning and organizing a heavy workload. * Thorough project management experience, including updating project status, creating and editing reports, adjusting schedules, reallocating resources, and providing updates. * Experience working both independently and in a team environment to meet shared goals and objectives. * Thorough knowledge of safe work practices, basic electrical theory, construction/maintenance standards (i.e., GO95 and GO128), methods, techniques, tools, and equipment as they relate to the electric distribution system. * Ability to serve as a temporary lead in the absence of the Project General Supervisor. * Ability to follow Edison safety protocols and safe work practices. * Ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers. * Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation. * Strong ethics, influence and negotiation, leadership, interpersonal skills, communication, and the ability to effectively manage stress and engage in continuous learning.
