The Workforce Staffing (WFS) Team is looking for a Workforce Engagement Specialist. Workforce Engagement Specialists own the development and execution of local and regional community engagement strategies and operationalize plans to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). These KPI's are tied to increasing the hourly entry-level talent pipeline, reducing the need for paid advertising and recruiting space, and the dissemination of engagement activity information and initiatives.

This role requires the ability to keep composure in fast-moving situations, embrace ambiguity, quickly get up to speed on complex issues, anticipate community partner questions/reactions, and formulate thorough messaging strategies with speed and efficiency. The Workforce Engagement Specialist focuses on the development of strategic relationships with locally-based stakeholders and community leaders to create an onramp into hourly positions across Amazon's WFS businesses. Key skills and abilities for this role include consulting, facilitation, influencing, communication, coaching, analysis, risk evaluation, empathy, problem solving, and high judgment with the ability to use data to make decisions.

The Workforce Engagement Specialist - key responsibilities:

  • Creates a plan, based upon data, for a team/business and develops scalable strategies that capture and build a talent pool at the lowest cost per hire

  • Based upon research and data, identifies and supports the team/business to develop scalable strategies that yield diverse candidates and hourly talent

  • Supports the establishment and maintenance of long-term relationships with centers-of-influence and select community organizations

  • Builds and fosters community engagement relationships that demonstrate return on investment

  • Gains and maintains awareness of labor markets and their impact on Amazon's near and long-term hourly staffing needs

  • Develops and maintains relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to build long-term partnerships

  • Manages the analyses of weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting of Community Workforce Engagement activity performance via Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Coordinates activity related to large scale community events such as conferences and job fairs

  • Partners with internal stakeholders, such as recruiting, marketing and staffing management teams; public policy teams (state and local); public relations teams; local operations and HR teams; and finance and procurement teams, to ensure alignment

  • Leads and drives projects of increasing scale and complexity, and manages programs through to completion

  • Owns training, development, team culture and activity related to Community Workforce Engagement for Regional Staffing Teams

  • Must be able to travel as needed to conduct events in various locations within your designated assigned geographical area. Local travel up to 75% required - National travel up to 10%

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years' experience in sales, non-profit, recruiting, program management, consulting or high volume workforce development

  • Experience managing and prioritizing deliverables, projects and relationships

  • Master's degree or MBA preferred

  • Exceptional analytical skills, comfortable working with large amounts of data and communicating data findings, experience establishing and tracking key performance metrics including return on investment

  • Cross-functional project management experience

  • Ability to work successfully in a dynamic, ambiguous environment

The Role The Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Community Engagement is a key member of the Sotheby's leadership team, reporting to the Chief Talent Officer. The Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Community Engagement will partner with staff and executive leadership across the Company to lead a holistic effort to cultivate a more diverse workforce and inclusive culture where employees of all backgrounds and identities feel valued, respected and recognized for their contributions to the business. Among its many responsibilities, the Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Community Engagement will lead the design and implementation of Sotheby's Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Plan, which will articulate clear goals and initiatives to support our work to become a more diverse and inclusive workplace aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Responsibilities will include: overseeing the global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee; developing the strategy for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and developing diverse talent; creating pipelines for entry into the art world; conducting unconscious bias and cultural competency trainings with the staff and executive management; providing learning opportunities and educational resources on diversity and inclusion for the global team; reviewing the Company's employee and client policies, procedures and communications through a diversity lens; and helping to expand opportunities for increased upward mobility within the workplace. The Head of Diversity, Inclusion & Community Engagement will also lead the Company's Corporate Social Responsibility and charity auction programs, to ensure that our global philanthropic efforts support our values; uplift the communities in which we do business; identify strategic partnerships that further our diversity and inclusion objectives; and deepen a sense of internal community among our staff worldwide. Qualifications * Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience, with 5+ years leading diversity and inclusion programs within a business context. * A proven track record of leading and influencing global transformation across multiple cultures. * Well networked and maintains strong relationships with diversity-related organisations worldwide. * Experience with and knowledge of employment law as it pertains to diversity and inclusion compliance requirements in a global context highly desirable * Excellent influencing skills at all levels of the organization with a consultative approach. * Experience counseling senior leadership on complex initiatives involving multiple considerations and stakeholders. * Confident leadership skills, and strong communicator -- both written and verbal. * Competence in making timely, effective, principles-based decisions within the framework of a complex business. * Success designing, leading and completing multiple complex enterprise initiatives, through cross-functional teams. * Quickly achieves credibility and respect in the institution, not only based upon knowledge and experience, but also based on values. * Proven change management capabilities with effective teamwork and relationship-building skills across an organization. * Familiarity with art and cultural institutions is not necessary, but preferred. * Prior experience in coaching and facilitating preferred. * Bachelor's Degree required.
