This position develops and coordinates initial assessments, scheduling and supervising of residents. It is also responsible for developing and coordinating all Community Work Service (CWS) projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Identifies appropriate Work Service projects with community service organizations.

  • Coordinates CWS referrals.

  • Coordinate job development activities with other community service organizations

  • Maintains all verification for CWS completed projects.

  • Prepares weekly and monthly reports to ensure residents complete court mandated CWS hours.

  • Conducts on-site CWS checks.

  • Supervises all residents on CWS as needed.

  • Verifies residents' weekly schedules and hours.

  • Maintains communication with Case Managers.

  • Performs daily surveillance CWS crews.

  • Complies with Company's work rules and policies as explained in the Employee Handbook and the Facility Policies and Procedures Manual. Responds positively to directives from managers and supervisors in a cooperative spirit to ensure conformance to standards.

  • Adheres to the Company's attendance and work overtime policies as required to ensure adequate coverage of the program and to ensure the safety and security of the residents.

  • Complies with safety rules and takes appropriate corrective action to ensure work is performed in a safe manner and without injury to self or others.

  • Communicates effectively with all levels of staff in a manner that promotes a team spirit and a sense of cooperation.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED equivalent.

  • One (1) year experience in a related field preferred

  • Must hold a current driver's license in the state in which the position functions and have current driver's insurance.

  • General knowledge of the correction field.

  • Sufficient organizational skills to keep the workflow on-going in an orderly manner.

  • Ability to express thoughts logically, in both written and verbal form using correct grammar.

  • Demonstrates flexibility in order to perform a wide range of duties.

  • Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department.

VIEW JOBS 10/8/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-06T00:00 Job Summary – The Bariatric Service Line Coordinator is responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of the Bariatric Service Line at Alaska Regional Hospital. This position promotes and maintains positive working relationships with physicians and staff who play a role in the care of bariatric patients. The Bariatric Service Line Coordinator provides education to staff on the care and treatment of bariatric patients as well as to the community on the bariatric services provided at Alaska Regional Hospital. The Bariatric Service Line Coordinator supports the mission, vision statements and goals of Alaska Regional Hospital. Position Reports to – Assistant COO Key Interactions – Bariatric surgeons, patients, and nursing unit staff members. Job Duties – * Serve as a liaison between the Alaska Regional Hospital and MBSAQIP. * Assists in center development, managing the accreditation process and ensuring continuous compliance with MBSAQIP requirements. * Maintains relevant policies and procedures, patient education, outcomes data collection, quality improvement efforts, and education of relevant staff in the various aspects of the metabolic and bariatric surgery patient with a focus on patient safety. * Supports the development of written protocols and education of nurses. * Serves as the liaison between Alaska Regional and all surgeons performing metabolic and bariatric surgery at the center and any general surgeons providing call coverage. * Assists in maintaining the documentation of the call schedule provided by all covering surgeons. * Enter data into the MBSAQIP Data Registry Platform. * Fulfill case abstraction duties, but also fulfill ongoing training and recertification requirements. * Enter long-term follow-up data on a compounding number of patients over time, and fulfill requests for patient data. Job Requirements (Education and Experience) – * RN license or Registered Dietitian required * BLS certification required * A minimum of three years of nursing experience with bariatric patients preferred Job Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) – * Excellent written, oral and presentation skills * Strong clinical skills in the performance of nursing care * Knowledge of bariatric procedures and surgeries, nursing care, and treatment plans * Strong leadership skills and organizational skills * Initiative and creativity in proposing and implementing projects * Ability to integrate duties with other department programs to maximize impact and create efficiencies. * Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
