The NC Lyft team is looking for an experienced Community Specialist who knows how to lead a team and wants to make a big impact at a fast-growing company. You will manage team members, design creative initiatives for improving the driver experience at Express Drive sites, and manage relationships with our rental car partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day to day operations of multiple Express Drive sites, including being responsible for and reporting on key business and team performance metrics

  • Hire, train and develop a team of Community Associates

  • Collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders and external partners to effectively manage operations at Express Drive sites

  • Lead regular team meetings to team informed of product updates / comms and aligned to Lyft's vision

  • Continuously innovate ways to improve the driver and team experience

  • Present quantitative and qualitative findings to regional leadership to help drive high impact decisions

  • Assist in de-escalating challenging driver interactions

  • Represent Lyft's brand, mission, and culture both inside and outside of the organization

  • Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays

Experience:

  • 3+ years experience with in-person customer service roles such as retail, technical support or hospitality

  • 3+ years experience managing a team

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills in order to work effectively with employees of all levels and external partners

  • Strong track record of setting goals, creating a plan, and getting results

  • Demonstrated ability to consult, influence, and manage different groups of partners.

  • Knowledge of and passion for the rideshare industry; bonus points if you're a driver too!

  • Familiarity with the Triangle

  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required

  • Proficiency with common technology tools like Slack, Zendesk, Google Sheets, Google Docs etc.

VIEW JOBS 10/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-15T00:00 The goal of the Durham Community Food Pantry (DCFP) is to fill the 1.5 million-pound food shortage in Durham and Orange counties by distributing a week's worth of groceries to families in those communities once every 30 days. The DCFP is a new, large-scale food pantry that will be open 6 days per week to families in need. Families receive a nutritionist-designed core package of groceries containing pantry staples such as, canned vegetables, pasta, pasta sauce, rice, beans, cereal, peanut butter, milk, etc. In addition to this core package, families will receive perishable items on an as available basis, including fresh produce, frozen meat, dairy items, deli items, frozen items, etc. The DCFP is able to distribute large packages of food to more people monthly because of its ample storage and operations space. The 7,500 sf facility contains a walk in cooler and freezer to store pallets of refrigerated and frozen items, as well as a 2,500 sf warehouse to hold approximately 44 pallets of shelf stable food items. A large welcome area in the front of the building comfortably seats approximately 40 and has space to conduct cooking demonstrations during or after pantry hours. The DCFP will source food by hosting new food drives at local churches and businesses. It will also work with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC, the Interfaith Food Shuttle, and local farms and gardens to reclaim perishable food items from the retail market to distribute to families. In addition to increasing the amount of food in the community, Catholic Charities seeks to increase knowledge surrounding food and healthy eating habits. The DCFP currently partners with the Durham County Dept. of Public Health to offer 16 "Eating Healthy on a Budget" classes annually. The DCFP seeks to add additional classes through the AmeriCorps Nutrition Education Program. The AmeriCorps member will be a visible and vital member of the DCFP team, offering enhanced services to families in the community.
