Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Community School Director has overall responsibility for an assigned school's implementation of the community school strategy.

GENERAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the agency's lead staff in the assigned community school to focus on coordination of wrap-around services to the school day.

  • Ensure that all programs and activities are aligned to funder expectations, student and family needs and that outcomes are being met.

  • Develop structures and corrective action plans as needed to ensure that accountability is in place and that expectations are being met.

  • Work with the Principal and other school leadership through at-least weekly meetings for coordination of a seamless system of services in the school.

  • Participate in Principal leadership meetings and other school based meetings as appropriate, including School Governance, data teams and others.

  • Develop and recruit partners and resources for provision of needed programs and services, i.e., adult education, community meetings, behavioral health services, health services, additional after school programs, weekend and evenings programs.

  • Ensure the community schools work plan is developed annually and ongoing compliance to the work plan is in place.

  • Supervise the Extended Day/After School Program Coordinator, Academic Coordinator and Family Center Director positions.

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports as required that include data reports, outcome reports and programmatic reports for funders.

  • Serve as representative to the Community School Partnership Network Meetings and other meetings related to community schools as appropriate.

  • Other duties as required.

PQI Functions:

  • Create and implement effective data collection systems

  • Analyze and interpret outcomes and trends related to program and administrative services

  • Identify and prioritize desired results and establishing means to measure progress toward those results

  • Analyze and evaluate progress toward achieving the agency's program goals and objectives

  • Evaluate operational functions that influence the agency's capacity in the delivery of program and administrative services

  • Use results of data to inform decision making

  • Identify and mitigate risk

Qualifications

  • Master level degree or equivalent.

  • At least five years experience in youth services within an urban/school setting.

  • At least three years managerial and supervisory experience.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong managerial skills

  • Knowledge of a community schools framework and/or wrap around services for schools.

  • Ability to analyze and use data for decision-making.

  • Experience working with Hartford schools is a plus.

  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word environment.

The opportunity As a Community Associate, you'll work closely with new and existing customers across a myriad of industries, working to create and maintain your own Regus community within your center, where you will help take care of all the administrative and support needs for your customers…so that your customers can focus on running their business.
