Requirements / Qualifications

Required: 1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required; Master's degree strongly preferred. 2.

A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience, to include experience in community organizing, social work, health or education and knowledge of community-based organizations. 3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders. 4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve shared goals. 5.

Knowledge of best practices in community school models and principles. 6. Knowledge of education and social service systems and resources. 7. Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and some weekends. 8.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate events that foster family and community participation. 9. Computer literacy to include the use of Microsoft Office and Google applications. Desired: 1.

Experience with grant writing and fundraising preferred. 2. Experience coordinating and/or managing programs in an educational, non-profit, and/or human services setting. 3. Knowledge of research-based strategies that support parent, family and community engagement.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Executive Director, Expanded Learning and Community Partnerships, the Community School Coordinator (CSC) is responsible for the implementation, integration, alignment, and coordination of the community school strategy at the district level. The CSC is responsible for facilitating the process of transforming sites into full-service community schools.The CSC works in partnership with school site administrators and site based leadership teams to assess the school community's needs and assets; coordinates community events, student and family support services, and creates a learning environment in partnership with school administration that supports student achievement and wellness. The Community School Coordinator must work to create a high performing Community School partnerships wherein students and families are supported, community members are connected, and successful outcomes emerge. The CSC will work in partnership with site leadership teams in enhancing the Multi-Tiered System of Supports by assisting in the following areas: 1. Building effective team that includes educators, school-based service providers, community-based organizations, and family/youth 2. Engaging in and promoting data-based decision making 3. Establishing formal processes for the selection and implementation of evidence-based practices 4. Facilitating early access to student supports 5. Conducting rigorous progress monitoring for both fidelity and effectiveness 6. Providing ongoing coaching and support at both the systems and practices level
