Lifesteps, a local non-profit agency, is currently recruiting for an entry level Community Relations / PR Representative to work at our subsidiary agency (accessAbilities, Inc.) location in Export, PA. This is a full-time position, Monday thru Friday, 8am-4:30pm, with occasional evening or weekend work for special events or fundraising events.

The Community Relations Representative plays an important role in fundraising and community relations by working to strengthen donor relationships and achieve the organization's annually established financial goals. The Community Relations Representative will assist with maintaining the donor database and generate reports and thank you letters, monthly press releases, annual campaigns, newsletters and special appeals, special events and projects as assigned.

Clerical responsibilities include generating letters from a mail merge and coordinating campaign mailings, assisting with document preparation and presentations, and general office filing.

The Community Relations Representative will travel throughout Western PA to represent Lifesteps at events and engage staff, donors and volunteers. The Community Relations Representative will assist with volunteer engagement, expo/fair coordination, and agency history and photography as needed.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (preferably in public relations, marketing, communications, journalism, or a similar major)

  • 2 years of non-profit development, sales, or communication experience

  • Advanced computer skills with expertise using the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, and Excel)

  • Excellent verbal communication and in writing, editing, proofreading

  • Must have valid Drivers License and proof of auto insurance
