What You Will Do:

  • The Community Program Specialist in coordination with the organizations' calendar of focus will plan, coordinate and schedule monthly programs and screenings for the 55+ Club program, community health screenings, pocket program video series, and scheduling of PRN nurses as needed. May also include special event planning and implementation.

  • Responsible for promoting, coordinating and facilitating the Speakers Bureau functions to area clubs, organizations and businesses. Promotes and presents healthcare services and programs through speaking engagements. Includes AV equipment set up and tear down.

  • Coordinates monthly community health screenings, including location/date/time/type of screenings. Schedules PRN nurses to conduct screenings and meets with them at least quarterly to assess screenings and make changes as necessary.

  • Coordinates Firelands Health attendance at community health fairs, including determination of which departments should be in attendance, with input from the director of marketing & communications. Schedules PRN nurses to attend if needed. Coordinates and identifies department representatives as appropriate. Helps departments assemble supplies for health fair, reconfirms attendance in a timely fashion, and assesses to determine benefit or relevance of attendance after health fair.

  • Will coordinate and conduct tours, upon request, of hospital facility for outside and internal organizations.

  • Assists with interviewing and copywriting as it pertains to the development of publications such as the Feel Better with Firelands magazine and the Empower online blog.

  • Plans and conducts health-focused educational programs presented by physicians/speaker.

  • Coordinates and conducts monthly community health screenings, including location/date/time/type of screenings.

  • Coordinates Firelands Health attendance at Community Health Fairs, including determination of which departments should be in attendance and advertising and promotion of events with input from the director of marketing & communications.

  • Maintains records and statistics for 55+ Club newsletter, luncheon club attendance, speakers bureau, etc.

  • Promotes the 55+ Club through speaking engagements and personal contacts.

  • Provides information for the "Feel Better with Firelands" newsletter, for Firelands 55+ club and health screenings.

  • Coordinates and facilitates speakers bureau engagements, including contacting area clubs, organizations, and businesses for potential speaking engagements, scheduling speaker, set up, and follow up after engagement.

  • Works with the marketing team on annual programs, special events, and trade shows as assigned, which may include assistance with staffing, program content, theme, programs, entertainment, awards, etc.

What You Will Need:

Preferred:

  • RN, LPN or bachelor's degree and experience in a related field.

Required:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent, with courses in office management with two to three years' experience in coordinating events and/or special programs.

  • Highly organized with ability to prioritize workload.

  • Knowledge in use of office and audiovisual equipment such as laptops and projectors.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Demonstrated knowledge and successful experience in interpersonal communications and human relations.

  • Valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator's license and insurable under Firelands auto policy. Employee must provide proof of personal automobile liability insurance coverage upon request.

  • Successful completion of a ninety (90) day probationary period.
