Job Description

At VillageMD, we're looking for a Community Outreach Specialist to help us transform the way primary care is delivered and how patients are served. VillageMD is looking for dedicated team members who are resourceful, flexible, and problem solvers. As a Community Outreach Specialist, you will be expected to plan and execute community events throughout the week. A key element of this role is setting a positive tone for events. The Community Outreach Specialist plays a significant part in maintaining our excellent reputation in the community. This role is accountable for marketing Village Medical to adults on Medicare by forming relationships with relevant stakeholders, scheduling events, and participating in events. This role will work very closely with the Marketing and Operations team and will gain valuable experience in healthcare.

The Outreach team will build a pipeline of potential patient leads. The Community Outreach Specialist role will take ownership and have an opportunity to:

  • Represent our company in an official capacity with key stakeholders at community events.

  • Receive sales training and learn best practices in engagement practices.

  • Become an expert in a dynamic, evidence-based, and population health-driven healthcare model for Medicare patients.

  • Learn and execute end-to-end lead generation.

How you can make a difference

  • Build relationships with key community leaders that can connect with our patient population of adults on Medicare (65+).

  • Design and execute community events to inform prospective patients about their healthcare options

  • Represent our company in an official capacity with key stakeholders at community events

  • Daily reporting, documentation, and detailed pipeline management in CRM platform

  • Receive sales training and learn best practices in engagement practices

  • Become an expert in a dynamic, evidence-based, and population health-driven healthcare model for Medicare patients

  • Learn and execute end-to-end lead generation

  • Develop a pipeline of prospective patients through multiple grass roots activities, including:

  • Participation in a variety of local community outreach/marketing activities and events including health fairs, presentations at senior buildings, activities at churches and food pantries, and any place where older adults may benefit from learning about Village Medical Group service offerings

  • Canvassing, in the neighborhoods where we have clinics in the vicinity

  • Soliciting and following up on patient referrals

  • Following up on warm leads generated through marketing efforts

  • Providing tours of Village Medical Group locations

  • Address prospective patient concerns and sign-up eligible prospects for an initial visit at Village Medical Group

  • Follow up with prospective patients to ensure they attend scheduled visit

  • Provide exceptional, compassionate customer service

Experience to drive change

  • High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred

  • At least one year experience in sales, client relations, or community relations required; prior experience in healthcare preferred

  • Motivated by performance-based compensation

  • Customer service mentality and desire to help patients solve problems

  • Motivation to provide better healthcare to needing patients

  • Proficient PC skills with strong written and public communication skills

  • Familiarity with customer relationship management (CRM) systems preferred

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills

  • Access to a vehicle that you can use every day in job functions. Mileage is reimbursed.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to proactively structure work and problem solve independently

  • Highest degree of honesty, integrity and fairness

  • Fluency in Spanish to serve patients in the communities we operate in (where necessary)

  • Experience in healthcare preferred but not required
