Community Outreach - Group Assistant - Friends Way

Summary:

The Group Assistant under the direction of the FRIENDS WAY Program Director is responsible for planning and management of the United Way grant peer support group program in the urban communities of Central Falls Pawtucket and Providence.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in developing outreach material in English and Spanish.

• Works with the Segue Institute to recruit families to participate in the program particularly those from black indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) communities.

• Works with the FRIENDS WAY and Segue program leaders to develop curriculum and activities for the weekly sessions.

• Coordinates the weekly peer group sessions plan activities purchase and organize group meals and materials arranges classroom spaces and oversee sessions

• Develops activities and provides appropriate materials to accomplish the program goals for each age group.

• Maintains a safe environment conducive to the goals of the program.

• Assists in conducting satisfaction surveys from families and facilitators.

• Works with the Program Director to develop new program directions and initiatives.

Other information:

Education and Experience

• Associate�s or Bachelor�s Degree in a human services field (Psychology Counseling Social Work etc.).

• Equivalent experience will be considered.

Bilingual/bicultural English/Spanish
