The best women's hospital in Los Angeles is looking for current RN candidates to staff Operating Room, Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby care units to be housed in our expanding new patient tower facility scheduled to open next year. Position Summary:

This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with the team, as well as autonomously, when necessary. The individual will be responsible to assist the OB department in all aspects of marketing and community outreach programs. The individual will be responsible for the oversight of scheduling, organizing and conducting maternity tours for participating clinics, independent Doctor's offices, and individual patients as needed.

The role of the Community Outreach Coordinator (COC) is to assist with the tracking of activities by clinic and individual physician. Activities may include pre-registration, maternity tour volumes and monthly reports. The COC will play a primary role in maintaining relationships with existing clinics and establishing relationships with new clinics.

Assist the team and/or autonomously with outreach to existing clinics to ensure hospital relationships remain intact. Develop mechanism in conjunction with the team and/or autonomously to report monthly progress.

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • In conduction with the team and the Market Development Supervisor, identifies new clinics to establish a hospital relationship.

  • Identifies and works with the team, Market Development Supervisor, nursing, admitting and other hospital departments to remove barriers to utilization of the hospital by patients and clinic personnel.

  • Serves as a key contact to various clinic and hospital personnel as it relates to Special Deliveries (Prenatal/Maternal Education). Develop mechanism to track process. Report progress on a monthly basis.

  • Maternity tours: Assists or provides coverage to activities involved in conducting tours which includes but not limited to reservation of room, equipment, dietary food request, preparation of marketing handouts, and clean up.

  • Assists or provides coverage to the team in answering all CHA-HMPC Special Deliveries telephone lines and provides substantive information by telephone or in person to the general public, members, volunteers, medical staff and others.

  • Ensures the Special Deliveries team promptly responds to call backs, to all patients and clinics that have called after hours. Ensures the appropriate follow-up is performed with patients and or clinics that have missed appointments or tours for rescheduling purpose.

  • Work closely with the Ob/Gyn Market Development Supervisor to keep abreast of project activity, priorities, and deadlines.

  • Balances and prioritizes request from multiple clinics and performs varied task to follow through on commitment.

  • Assist with the hospital related activities, such as health fairs, when requested to do so. This may include weekends, holidays, and evening hours.

  • Assists with data entry, tallies calls to the specific clinic or program, and maintains an accurate and organized record related to OB projects.

  • Collaborates with the Special Deliveries staff to ensure promotion to the patient the maximum benefits from the program and maintain a constant relationship with patients throughout the course of the program.

  • Creates a positive and professional patient experience for each patient, creating an atmosphere of caring and support among staff and throughout program components.

  • Work with the L&D operations task force and serves as a liaison between the various clinics and referral sources and the L&D department.

  • Performs any other duties or responsibilities, which may be assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, required.

Preferred Education:

  • Associates Degree Preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • Two (2) years' work experience in a hospital or healthcare setting required, women's health service line preferred.

  • Must possess exceptional organizational, clerical, and communication skills.

  • Must possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

  • Must possess critical thinking and the ability to make decisions and perform job duties with minimal supervision.

  • Must be willing to travel within the greater Los Angeles and Southern California geographic area.

Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (Spanish, Armenian, Korean) preferred, if bilingual must possess a certification of competency.

Required Licensure, Certification, Registration or Designation:

Fire card must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
