Community Outreach Coordinator

AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The community outreach coordinator plays a critical role in strengthening relationships through planning, coordination and implementation of projects in partnership with the community. These relationships with community residents, local organizations, elected officials and stakeholders help identify areas where Habitat for Humanity's housing and community development solutions can intersect with identified needs and aspirations.
Build relationships and partnerships with community residents, local organizations, elected officials and community stakeholders.
Identify community improvement projects and implement them from planning through completion.
Engage volunteers from the community to support local improvement projects.
Coordinate and document the implementation of Habitat's housing and community development solution in partnership with the community.
This position will focus on brand management and homeowner services aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

Activities and attractions: Durham is a hub of entrepreneurship and a destination for arts, culture, sports, and food. Not only do we have fantastic events like Food Truck Rodeos and Iron Pours, but we are also home to the Durham Bulls AAA baseball team. As an AmeriCorps member in Durham, you will learn about the role our city played in the Civil Rights movement and how decisions made years ago have shaped our mission for affordable housing today.
Unique projects: The community outreach coordinator will assist our Communications and Brand Manager in the planning and execution of communications and branded items celebrating our Habitat affiliate's 40-year anniversary. They will also have the opportunity to help us create and implement new strategies for engaging homebuyers in all stages of the Habitat process. They will also help identify and develop new strategies for increasing engagement and collaboration between Habitat and the Durham community.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
