In accordance with National Lutheran's We CARE philosophy, the Guiding Principle Core Values, and in alignment with the NLCS culture, the Community Operations Sales Counselor is responsible and accountable for the following:

CORE COMPETENCIES

Under the direction of the Sales Director, the Community Operations Sales Counselor is responsible for selling and executing the Residence and Services Agreements from qualified applicants for homes within the community to meet and exceed goals and objectives. Must be able to utilize professional sales skills and sales advancement techniques to achieve established individual sales goals and objectives.

  • Supports census growth and census maintenance for assigned service lines (independent living, assisted living, memory care/support, long-term care and/or rehabilitation)

  • Executes a professional sales presentation in a multiple venues for initial and/or follow up contact with prospective residents and family members for all sales inquiries (online, calls, walk-ins)

  • Generates necessary correspondence with prospective residents and their families to maintain and nurture relationships

  • Handles all details of new resident move-ins, including but not limited to standard and upgrade selections, processing forms, addendums and deposits and coordination with facilities and/or contractors regarding selections, vendor and construction requests. Ensures that the customization authorization is executed by the resident and that payment is received for all custom work prior to the commencement of the customization process

  • Partners with Environmental Services to ensure the readiness of each residence for move-in

  • Maintains database of leads, existing prospective residents and professional referral sources through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and follows all procedures deemed necessary to keep CRM current. Accurately tracks appropriate information in the CRM throughout the sales process and generates corresponding reports

  • Actively networks to obtain lead referrals through a variety of professional referral sources such as trust officers, attorneys, local churches, senior groups, etc.

  • Responsible for on-going contact with prospective residents from reservation deposit through final closing to assure completion of move-in and finalization of a Residence and Services Agreement

  • Implements, maintains, and promotes the Future Residency program

  • Takes lead in conducting resident open houses and participates with sales/marketing events both on and off-site

  • Participates in all areas of sales activities needed to achieve goals set by the Sales Director and Executive Director

  • Learns and keeps up-to-date with the competitive market to ensure appropriate knowledge of competitors, senior services and client preferences

  • Works collaboratively with the Sales Team to ensure a smooth move-in experience, including assisting with the completion of required resident documents prior to move in as well as assisting residents with internal IL transitions

  • Performs clerical duties and assignments as directed by the Sales Director

  • Performs other duties as assigned

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Human Services or related field preferred

  • Three (3) years of experience in sales and/or marketing required; preferably in continuing care, longterm care or health care environment with demonstrated success

  • Customer service oriented, hospitality-minded, assertive, relational, enthusiastic, efficient, organized, goal-directed, detail-oriented

  • Experience in presentations, public speaking and marketing retirement housing concepts to community groups preferred

  • Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image

  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills; and ability to maintain confidentiality residential information

  • Must be able to develop presentations, documents, and reports. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office

CD counselor provides educational groups, 1:1 counseling, family education and assists patients with developing a recovery management plan for long-term abstinence.
