The Flatiron School is seeking a Community Marketing Associate to join our rapidly growing team!

We are seeking a Community Marketing Associate to support our rapidly growing Marketing team. The Community Marketing Associate will be responsible for driving community engagement and cultivating an active, welcoming, and best-in-class community for prospective students with the ultimate goal of strengthening their connection to Flatiron School and increasing their likelihood to enroll.

In the role, you are the face of Flatiron School to prospective students, a culture carrier, and a positive experience creator. This role has an opportunity to not only invent and refine what community engagement looks like online and in-person for prospective students, but also to innovate through mediums like social media, video, and larger marketing campaigns. This is a cross functional role with collaboration across the Enrollments, Operations, and Product teams in addition to the Marketing team.

The Community Marketing Associate will:

  • Manage and curate the prospective student experience:

  • Coordinate pre and post-event communications and logistics, including monitoring RSVPs and sending invitations, confirmations, and thank you emails.

  • Organize sourcing and directing volunteers and volunteer roles for on-campus events.

  • Work after hours to manage prospective student event run-of-show up to 2x per week

  • Track and report the effectiveness of events in terms of conversion to student and attendee satisfaction.

  • Identify new relevant online communities and create a Flatiron School presence:

  • Grow and improve Flatiron School's presence in online communities we're currently involved in, including review sites like Quora, question forums, course listing sites like Course Report and Switchup, and meetups.

  • Initiate community participation in free online courses on Learn.co and be the pillar student-facing community. Includes proactive Slack messages to welcome students, facilitating introductions, and setting up social study groups.

  • Field questions from prospective students and community members via email

  • Conduct regular interviews with prospective students to gather feedback and discover market trends.

  • Track and analyze the effectiveness of engagement efforts towards acquisition and conversion on a weekly and monthly basis.

  • Oversee Flatiron School's social media presence:

  • Post relevant and on-brand posts weekly through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, Youtube, LinkedIn, and Quora

  • Respond to any questions, comments, and conversations relating to our social media presence in a way that embodies the Flatiron brand quickly and efficiently

  • Source stories and visuals that capture the essence of the brand. Work closely with other teams to create and execute on photo and video opportunities that can be showcased creatively on social media and beyond.

  • Manage and report on KPIs around social media engagement, responsiveness, and audience growth.

  • A quick learner: From new applications to new concepts, you pick things up quickly and enthusiastically

  • Data and goal driven: you constantly tie your work back to what's making an impact and prioritize ruthlessly.

  • A team player passionate about building community, education and/or technology.

  • A recent college grad or 1-3 years of professional experience.

  • Available to work hours: 9:30am-6:30pm. Must be willing to work 2+ evenings a week.

  • Experience in content creation via blogs or social media channels (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube).

  • Experience in community management, social media management, or event management (preferred).

  • Video experience (a plus).

  • Hubspot experience (a plus).
