Job Overview

The Community Lending Officer proactively will identify, develop, and maintain a quality network of business relationships that serves as a source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. External relationships are the cornerstone of generating new business and may consist of community-based organizations, realtors, builders, and governmental agencies. Our Community Lending Officers are required to participate in business related development opportunities, community efforts to promote home ownership and professional organizations. Incumbent will be responsible for interviewing new and existing members to determine their loan needs and advising those members of appropriate products, terms, and pricing, while gathering any additional required information. It will be necessary to generate complete mortgage applications, ensuring appropriate procedures and policies are followed, while meeting sales goals and objectives.

Additional responsibilities will include Closing and funding a minimum four community lending loans per month. Maintaining 60% of your overall loan volume in community lending products while maintaining active involvement in organizations serving the LMI community in Citadel's community charter market. The incumbent will collaborate with community-based organizations and municipalities to collect and submit subordinate financing (down payment assistance programs) for consideration in originating mortgages to low-moderate income borrowers.

This position will support the entire Citadel community charter footprint, of Philadelphia and the surrounding counties of Bucks, Delaware, Montgomery, and the City of Lancaster. This is a remote position but the individual must be able to travel amongst the footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Our Community Lending Officers are required to participate in business related development opportunities, community efforts to promote home ownership and professional organizations.

  • You will be responsible for interviewing new and existing members to determine their loan financial objectives and goals and advising those members of appropriate Citadel products, terms, and pricing, while gathering any additional required information. Review/Analyze credit and financial data and explain guidelines.

  • Apprise of pricing and lock rate as required; Identify appropriate opportunities to sell additional products.

  • Collect supporting loan documentation as required and provide complete package to Mortgage Loan Processor.

  • Work with the Director of Sales to conduct four homebuyer seminars per year and participate in Community Lending related events (Housing Fairs, etc.).

  • Volunteer to be on a Board or committee of a not-for-profit organization.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Work Experience

  • Must have a minimum three years of experience marketing and originating community lending mortgage loans and loan products.

  • Documented residential mortgage loan volume in the past 12 months of $18 million (minimum).

  • Established relationships with local referral networks.

  • Must maintain an active registration status with NMLS (Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry).

  • Must have effective proven sales skills.

  • Must have excellent time management skills.

  • Must be self-motivated and ability to work with minimal to no supervision.

  • Must be willing and able to travel to assigned branch locations, customers' homes and businesses, closings and perform presentations when requested.

  • Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Must have superior customer service skills.

  • Must have proficiency using Microsoft applications such as Word, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Proficiency with Encompass loan origination software and AUS systems of DU, Total Scorecard and GUS.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred.

Education

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
