Hiring Entry-Level Community Health Nurses. Must be a Registered Nurse (RN).

This posting is a pooled candidate posting to build a registry/list of qualified applicants for Nursing future hiring needs. Qualified candidates will be contacted for additional steps at the time of vacancy.

Located in the heart of the Baltimore/Washington, DC Metro corridor, Prince George's County, in Maryland, borders Washington D.C. and is just 37 miles south of the city of Baltimore. Encompassing almost 500 square miles, with over 900,000 residents Prince George's County has an urban atmosphere that still manages to provide a scenic and peaceful place to live, work, and play.

The Prince George's County Government Department of Health is seeking qualified applicants to fill entry-level Community Health Nurse I/II positions, grade A18/A21.

About the Positions:

This posting is for entry-level professional nursing staff positions.

Examples of Work

What You'll Do:

  • Provides direct nursing services to individuals utilizing the nursing process by conducting a comprehensive evaluation to determine a client's medical needs and establishing a Person-Centered Plan of Care.

  • Teaches and demonstrates client care procedures and health promotion concepts to clients and their families.

  • Documents patient's assessments, treatment, intervention and progress in agency medical records in accordance with Health Department, State and Federal guidelines.

  • Confers with health professionals, Supports Planners, family members and other designated individuals on the care needs of clients.

  • Complete weekly/monthly reports.

Qualifications

What You'll Need:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Graduation from an accredited school, college, university or an equivalent program with a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or a related health field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.

  • Possession of a valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) Certification

  • Possession of a valid driver's license to operate a motor vehicle.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • Proven experience and desire to work in a team oriented, fast-paced and professional environment

  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Additional Information

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:Upon selection, the candidate must:

  • Possession of a valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland issued by the Maryland State Board of Nursing at the time of appointment.

  • Possession of a valid license to operate a motor vehicle when required for the performance of job-related duties at time of appointment.

  • Possession of a valid cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification at time ofhire

  • Meet all training and performance standards and demonstrate proficiency as required by the agency.

  • Wear and use agency protective apparel and equipment in the performance of their assigned duties.

DURATION OF ELIGIBILITY: Candidates will be selected from a temporary register of eligible candidates, which will become effective approximately four (4) weeks after the closing date. Once a selection has been made, the register will expire.
